Aer Lingus Flight 712.
Had to Google it. 1968. Cause of crash unknown. Some conspiracy theorists say the British shot it down but that has been widely dismissed.

And English too, dragging their nets in the Irish Sea. You make it sound as if those subs were crewed exclusively by Englishmen targeting Celtic coracles, or summat. Like a scene from one of Jackson's early films called the Navigator.
Anyway, I didn't say the Yanks apologised for the Iranian airliner (in fact, I specifically said they didn't), but that they didn't deny it was them. Any more info on this Aer Lingus flight? Excuse my ignorance, I've just never heard of it.

Yep and English ones too.
Flight 712 went down off wexford in the 80s most likely due to a surface to air missile fired at a target drone which got too close to flight 712, so it goes anyway as the Royal navy helped salvage the wreckage and took some wreckage with them, reportedly parts of a target drone.
Dunno if it seems like it but I am not on an Anti England rant here
I was just providing some overkill in reply to Milk's overkill![]()
'Most likely'? Based upon?........

So you used google and 3 minutes later you know what happened and all sides of the story?

That's all it takes to get a quick cursory overview. Nowhere did I say I know all that happened
Knowing your agenda against western nations and tendency for extreme conspiracy theories I don't hold a lot of credence in your accusations of conspiracy in this case.

I laugh when people say "conspiracy theory" as if it is some crazy thing, it's exactly how the police do their work. Theorists look at facts and events and the behaviour and connections of those involved. Al
Based on as much solid evidence for it being true as not being true.
If the Royal navy took wreckage as said, if the Missile base was in oeration that day as said, then most likely.. yes.
Why do you look for "proof" of anything that questions an official story but never even care to find out yourself if the official story is bollocks?
Ask yourself, I don't need an answer
Possibly because most of us don't believe real life is one big Hollywood thriller.I laugh when people say "conspiracy theory" as if it is some crazy thing, it's exactly how the police do their work. Theorists look at facts and events and the behaviour and connections of those involved. Al

You must log in or register to see media
That was exactly the material I was thinking of. Chomsky is brutally honest, most cited professor alive.
I could turn that round and ask why you automatically, as in some sort of reflex action, disbelieve any 'official' version of anything as a point of principle, and, more worryingly, replace it with a credo that any counter version, however pityful the evidence, must be right. Makes great X- Files plots though, even if those pesky kids from Scooby-Doo would dubunk them within 20 minutes (including an hilarious chase scene in a corridor, before de-masking the main conspiracy theorist/hoaxer).
Anyway, off on a slight tangent )though still with conspiracy theory overtones), you'll like this, maybe. Saw Jim Lovell (with Brian Cox) at a fantastic lecture in Pontefract yesterday. They had an hour's q&a afterwards ( I didn't get to ask a question, despite having my twatty Apollo13 t-shirst and NASA baseball cap on, but I did want to ask one regarding why they didn't just put the mission back a month when Mattingly was exposed to measels: I'm sure you'd have wanted to ask about fluttering flags and the Van Allen Belts
). Speaking to my sister an hour ago, she said she;d tried to contact me yesterday but I was out. "Oh, I went to see Jim Lovell in Pontefract", I replied. A short silence, then "Was he the drummer in Yes?"...
Agenda again. Please spell out my agenda please, your lack of understanding of your own homeland and the wider world leaves you to talk about me, and agenda, because the subjects are beyond you.
Every US president post WWII should be hanged alongside Saddam and Putin and Blair, that is the truth, if law is applied equally, get over it biatch.
And no you can't understand anything complex and controversial with a quick overview, that is why you are thick as ****
Why shouldn't I be pissed when NATO incinerates yet another hospital and children as they did not a month ago
Possibly because most of us don't believe real life is one big Hollywood thriller.
