Watched their games semi final and final great for Harrogate and northern football . Jack Diamond given man of the match in both games which is great for the kid would be nice to see him progress .
Both games, good to hear for the lad, hopefully he gets the opportunity this coming season

So far so good, on the recruitment front, but we must also involve the players coming through more than we have done in the past , only Hume has made any sort of breakthrough recently, others have been cast aside who should have been better utilised, this must damage their self esteem and confidence, and us as a club in the long run. OaU.

Id like to think so. I said a similar thing about Embleton this time last year and unfortunately injuries spoilt it for him.
Both of them could save us a few quid.

There is a lot to be said for adopting a strategy of making a virtue out of neccessity.

PROVIDING it's not too late, and we have some talent left at the Academy, we could change tack and go all out with a youth policy.

Give the young players an opportunity whenever possible.
Some will fail.
Some will shine

The advantages for SAFC are multiple.
Saves on wages, at least initialy.
Transfer income from the successes.
Knowing that they will be given a chance should encourage promising youngsters to want to be here.

The downside though is that this is not a quick fix.
It's more of a long term strategy.
And it's been a long time since we seemed to go for anything other than quick fixes.

Think Jack Ross blew that chance, saying one thing and doing another, shame we hadn't given Robbie Stockdale a role at the club it was his first mistake of many imo. But its not too late imo, but we have wasted two seasons and lost a lot of useful opportunities, a midfield of Robson, Embleton and Mumba with Hulme and O/9 was one I would have liked to have seen developed but sadly, it was never to be.
