Quite the achievement for Harrogate that mind, for all you like an underdog story kinda wanted Notts back in the league for their history.
Id like to think so. I said a similar thing about Embleton this time last year and unfortunately injuries spoilt it for him. Both of them could save us a few quid.
Watched their games semi final and final great for Harrogate and northern football . Jack Diamond given man of the match in both games which is great for the kid would be nice to see him progress .
So far so good, on the recruitment front, but we must also involve the players coming through more than we have done in the past , only Hume has made any sort of breakthrough recently, others have been cast aside who should have been better utilised, this must damage their self esteem and confidence, and us as a club in the long run. OaU.
Strange, this report claims 4 in 6 https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/w...nd-fans-react-as-youngster-impresses-on-loan/

A fine homage to Catts from the young Diamond there. Obviously loves him to bits, probably more than @Rocky does.
There is a lot to be said for adopting a strategy of making a virtue out of neccessity. PROVIDING it's not too late, and we have some talent left at the Academy, we could change tack and go all out with a youth policy. Give the young players an opportunity whenever possible. Some will fail. Some will shine The advantages for SAFC are multiple. Saves on wages, at least initialy. Transfer income from the successes. Knowing that they will be given a chance should encourage promising youngsters to want to be here. The downside though is that this is not a quick fix. It's more of a long term strategy. And it's been a long time since we seemed to go for anything other than quick fixes.
