Yup, and it's another £1.5m that couldve gone towards Gray. I've asked before and I'll ask again - not expecting a real answer- but just how much do we scout these players? With each one from abroad it appears from the outside that we think we're signing a player with different attributes to the reality. It really wouldnt surprise me if our foreign scouting amounted to looking at leading goalscorer tables.
If i was Maguire id be wanting out right now. He isnt gonna figure barring injuries. Obvs well paid but most be frustrated.
Maguire's problem, is that other than his slip on Tues, Davies and Dawson have been 2 of our best players this season, neither has had a run of poor form. THere is growing clamour for 3 at the back, not just as it may change our fortunes going forwards, but alsowould allow us to play all 3 of Harry, Curtis and Daws
It's very unfortunate for Maguire that we have the best centre back pairing in the country outside the top half of the Prem in front of him.
