As much as I hate you guys, I have to admit it is some kind of sick joke that they can actually watch the replays and not only uphold the ban but not bad Young for diving either! <doh> Massive incompetence!

I would like to say I'm surprised, but,,the FA are NEVER going to asccuse a Manure player of cheating...NEVER

Saw this coming a mile away....Its Manure's league, what they say goes.

Move on and lets spank the Swans...

This decision is a blatant piss take. Our great working class game is well and truely ****ed.

Infact, it's asthough they are all patting each other on the back for guiding Man United to yet another league title.

Sunderland betrayed the "working class game" on Saturday by playing a pathetic defensive formation at HOME. You complain about Man U getting penalty decisions - if you don't attack the box then you wan't get a penalty shout.

Sunderland deserved to be relegated for adopting such p*** tactics.

The same 'defensive' formation which resulted in more shots on target for Sunderland and 11 v 4 corners in favour of Sunderland? Did you watch the full game or did you merely believe the media's biased coverage?

How does it feel to be 3 points below Sunderland?

I take it that you don't like being 3 points below Sunderland, then?

Chelsea fan in peace (and I mean that) and I have to say this is a ****ing disgrace. The FA are a laughing stock. Its about time clubs stood up to this incompetent bunch of ****ers who are destroying this league.

LOL. You are embarrassing yourself. This was a debate about referrees and because you have nothing else to contribute to the debate your answer is to say "we are higher in the league than you!!!!!!"

Wasn't deemed frivolous so only one game, but how they can come to this decision is beyond me. Maybe we should get our whole team to change their names to Balotelli then we can go out to try to break the legs of the opposition and get the same punishment. The FA are of another planet or are anti QPR but either way they are showing that unless you are a big club they don't want to be bothered with you.

Awful decision. Why has common sense left football. Anyone with eyes knows that it was never a penalty due to Young being offside - surely that is the crux of it. Play should have been stopped previously therefore Derry couldn't have commited a foul. the fact that it was also a preety soft dive is neither here nor there. such a pity that noone in the FA is man enough to make the right decision rather than take the easy route and hide behind their rule book.

Compare that decision with Ledley King rugby tackling Holt in the box on Monday - seriously which of the two should be a pen and a sending off? One rule for the big clubs and one for the rest of us methinks

The best summary of the situation I've seen:

The FA’s statement confirming their decision to uphold Shaun Derry’s suspension:

‘Queens Park Rangers midfielder Shaun Derry will serve a one match suspension with immediate effect after his claim of wrongful dismissal was rejected by a Regulatory Commission today [Tuesday 10 April].

Derry was dismissed for denying a goalscoring opportunity in the Premier League match against Manchester United on Sunday 8 April 2012.’

But a goal-scoring opportunity that only existed because of an official’s mistake. And a red card that was only shown because of Ashley Young’s simulation.

The real reason the FA has come to this baffling conclusion, is for the same reason that they make every decision – to protect themselves. It’s about sequence. If Derry has his red card rescinded, that would have provided a precedent for reviewing the incidents that lead up to the one under review. That opens a can of worms, and probably further complicates the disciplinary procedure.

So as far as the FA are concerned, Ashley Young being clearly offside is an irrelevance. Additionally, clearing Derry puts the spotlight on Young, and why exactly he did go sprawling to the turf – the FA would in essence be saying that the Manchester United player was cheating, and presumably there’d be some blowback about how to handle that.

This was the way to cut the head off the snake, so to speak – Derry’s red card stands, all those other problems go away.

I understand it, but it’s moronic – you have to show more common sense than that. This kind of adjudication just promotes the long-held belief that the FA is populated by suits who don’t really understand the game that they’re supposed to be governing.

    Same old nonsense.

Blackburn striker Anthony Modeste has had his 3 match ban for violent conduct in Saturday's match reduced to a 1 match ban. The FA say that it was because of 'extraordinary circumstances' and having missed last night's game against Liverpool he is now available for their remaining crucial games.

Obviously the incident was not as ugly and violent as Derry's savage attack on a player he barely came in contact with. All's well in the FA so.
