Probably because the dressing room door is painted to look like a goal. Our team have no hope of finding the door.
We never ever looked like scoring. Really no ideas at all. Obviously not helped by no Phillips or Austin but we looked soooo disjointed. With 2 up front we look worse than with one. They weren't that good either - their goal a definite foul. 0 - 0 would have been about right .
Please stop making excuses. I can't stand when our fans start whinging about referees when we lose. There was absolutely nothing wrong with their goal. The challenge on Hill was 50/50 and O'Neill was simply muscled off the ball on the line. If that had've been at the other end, none of us would be crying foul. This is the Championsh*t and its tough. Our players have to stand up and be counted, not get beaten to the ball and then go crying to the Ref.
Not a lot queens, when I saw the team I thought we would struggle, should played Traore & hoilett from the off & put them under pressure but didn't happen, derby had all breaks but we're there for taking if only we could have been more positve, so fcuked off with the display.
It was a bit like Rob Green v WBA last season. The ref could've played it safe and awarded a foul but our players need to be stronger and not let themselves get out muscled. Having said all that though you can't have it both ways. When an attacking player goes down for even the hint of a bit of contact and gets a pen and the defensive player sent off, you can't then award a goal where the defender would have cleared the ball without any interference from the attacker. The rules are very flawed. Sorry ****ed.. I meant ****ed.
That's true Nines but I've yet to come across anyone on here that wants pens given for barely any contact either. There's far too many frees and penalty-kicks in the game now. Its endemic and most of it is down to cheating and clever simulation. Apart from that, Green collided with one of our own players when he made that useless punch so it wasn't like the WBA situation in that regard mate. Poor from Green and poor from Dunne. Also poor from O'Neill. Chief person responsible for that goal was Green though. When a Goalie comes for a ball he must either catch it or get a firm hand to it. He did neither.
Obviously noone would cry foul if it was up the other end but I'd certainly expect it to be given. It's nothing to do with being tough- O'Neil has gone up to head it off the line and Martin pushes him away. It's a textbook foul.
Couldn't disagree more there mate. The two of 'em have both gone up for it and he's simply been outmuscled. It was a 50/50 challenge and he came off the worst. If we make football any less physical, the game is gone Wats. They've nearly destroyed it already as it is.
I didn't mean that part of the goal was reminiscent of the WBA goal. It was when Mulumbu? backed into him on the goal line to stop him gathering the ball, but I guess that's by the by now either way.
I know we were **** but that challenge obviously obstructed oneils chance to head clear. That surely must be a foul. Yes you're right, oneil could have been stronger but he's not just been outmuscled for a header - the forwards missed the ball and just pushed him over. It irritated me even further because the northern twats on sky sports kept saying 'nothing wrong with that!'. And listening to that Leicester tit Kevin Phillips with his huge head and tiny body squeezed into that awful suit was just the straw that broke the camels back.
I don't think Martin has gone up for it at all. If he had he'd have got there. O'Neil would have headed it away and gets knocked into the goal by someone who doesn't get the ball nor close to it. I don't see how that can't be a foul.
Was Green fouled by someone after the header went in? I honestly didn't see that mate and I watched the replays a few times. I should probably watch it again. Maiga looked bad when he came on. Doyle was anonymous too. As for Kranjcar, I was amazed when someone said earlier that he's only 29. I thought he was in his mid-thirties! He's been pretty sh*t for us this season too if we're honest. His efforts early on in the game were winding me well up. He was starting to remind me of he who shall not be named. He squandered a couple of attacks by being greedy and scuffing a pair of efforts horribly wide when there were options either side of him. Doyle, Johnson, Maiga and Zamora. This is the strike force that's going to fire us to the Prem!!!
Would have been satisfied with the goal if he'd got the final touch into the net, but his arm looked to be over O'Neill's shoulder preventing his leap and IMO was genuine interference. No goal... free kick on the 6 yard line, dee-fence. In general, another average game to watch, glad I didn't have to sit up through the night to watch. Will no doubt lose another perfectly good night's sleep on Saturday though. COYRsssss
You boys are clutching at straws here I'm afraid. Its often the case when fans don't want to blame their own players. Once again, if we had've put that one in at the other end you lads would be on here insisting that it was no foul!
I think you're just subtlely wumming as usual. I've said already that I'd expect that to be given as a foul if it was our attack. Green should have done better, yes, but that doesn't mean one can't objectively believe O'Neil was fouled.
If Derry conceded a pen and received a sending off for what he supposedly did at OT, then that goal tonight should of been disallowed.
