I predict that 10 players from each side will be sent off, leaving only Tiote and Cattermole who will both keep holding the ball inbetween their feet in the middle of the pitch to stop the other person from getting it.

I think it will be a narrow home win... I think our squad realises that we're going to end up around mid-table somewhere with nothing to really play for and I'm not convinced that most of the players are really aware of how big the game is to the fans... and those that are (like Catts) are going to have to work hard not to see the red mist.

Even O'Niell is probably not so concerned about it because when he followed us it was a different atmosphere between the two sets of supporters which I remember becoming more hostile and more hate-ridden during the 1970s; before that it was much more like the Liverpool/Everton game with banter being more friendly and funny whereas now it very quickly turns bitter.

2-1 to the Mags with a controversial goal after we equalise. Collochini and Bardo (if he plays) red carded with Catts and Tiote walking just the right-side of a red-card tightrope. It will be a grey squirrel that is killed. On a personal note I predict I will feel sick to my stomach all day and will be very grumpy when I speak to my wife (who's in Canada) that evening.

On a serious note, I predict a 3-1 win to Newcastle.

The team will come out firing on all cylinders with roaring home support (we always seem to play really well in a loud atmosphere) and Sunderland will be intimidated by 45,000 screaming geordies all vying for blood, which should hopefully take the sting out of the Sunderland attack slightly and allow Ba and Cisse to power forward full of confidence.

My only concern is the formations. Whenever we play 4-5-1 teams we seem to get over-run in midfield slightly. I'd hope that Ba will play a little deeper to counter that (presuming Artie Ziff goes 4-5-1, that is).

Thought you lot were against cross board threads?

No idea, not sitting on fence just honestly no idea.

The only people who seem to be against the cross-board threads are the mods, like cbra. I haven't seen anyone else complain about it to be honest, apart from the odd one or two.

Sorry, was taking it serious but now I see its a bit of fun, a joke, I go 0-5 to Sunderland with Cisse sent off, Ba mising a sitter and a ha-trick from Richardson.

I would agree that if ever there is a use for cross board threads its a derby game.

I think it's too close to call with both teams being fairly evenly matched IMO.

I'm going for 1-1 but hoping for 1-2 score line.

I would normally do the head and heart thing, but last time my heart said 1-0 to us and my head said 1-0 to them. And for the halloween haunting, my heart was saying we'd dick them and my head said we'd scrape a draw. My head is an idiot

In your opinion. In my opinion you don't. But let's not go down this route and spoil the thread.

I agree. If any statement is going to kick off arguments, it's going to be "we have the better team" or wrathofpaulmcgrath's attempt at fishing.
