Here we go again. Good luck with the unlawful argument. Maybe they were paying OBZ's right hand man too much! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51152166
Apologies 9s. See you posted in transfer thread. Feel free to delete, lock, annihilate, consign to the dustbin of footballing history, forever to be scrubbed from all cognizance!
The EFL really need to clear up the rules regarding the ground selling schemes & whether it should be allowed at all in which case will be a fair ploy to be used by all clubs. Clearly using clever accounting to sell something for amount that it's clearly not worth needs close scrutiny. What would our circumstances & FFP fine been if we could have sold our ground to reduce our losses. Need a system in place that provides a level playing field so everyone has a chance particularly the well run clubs.
It's ok mate, I think the subject needed its own thread. I only posted what I did in the transfer thread in response to Tramore's post.
I'm sure our owners will be monitoring very closely and ready to cry foul if they perceive others have got away with what we could not.
Oh ain’t Karma a bitch. All the DCFC in laws laughed and took the piss when we got done over Faurlin , then claimed we cheated and should have Been docked points and not gone up, then they laughed even louder when we fell foul of FFP and got done .......... Well in the words of Nigel Farage in the European Parliament................. “YOUR NOT LAUGHING NOW ARE YOU” oh happy days are here again
Keogh taking a dismissal case against WRDC...….. Seems there was another passenger in the car at the time hence why he was in the rear seat and Derby have tried to keep a lid on this...….. https://www.msn.com/en-ie/sport/cha...ainst-derby-county/ar-BBZabi3?ocid=spartanntp
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...p_twitter_share-top&__twitter_impression=true This QC is a QPR fan helping Derby with their appeal. I wonder if we employed him at the time? I can't see them winning though Rooney adding his 'weight' might help I suppose.
I spoke to a well known football manager at the weekend and he said the EFL/FFP is just a con and waste of time. He said it was shocking how QPR got such a big fine where others break all the rules. Take Reading... I was on the understanding at the begining of the season they were not allowed to sign players due to rule breaks... A letter to the EFL and they spend millions on players? Derby/Forest/Sheff Weds all seem to break the rules and nothing happens. We discussed QPR... He said MW is a 'top Man' and will do a good job at QPR. He was surprised we were not in a new stadium and higher up after all the fanfare of Uncle Tony. He wound me up saying how good Brentford are and leaving us behind.
We don't need him to tell us how far behind Brentford we are! Hard to fathom why we got struck with the fine and others have not. Does not seem very just at all! Anyone have any theories on that?
Our excess spending, and thus our losses on relegation to the Championship, were far greater than any other clubs. Simple as that. No other club has come close to being as profligate. £41.1m spending spree on the likes of Andrew Johnson, Julio Cesar, Samba Diakite, Robert Green, Stephane Mbia, Park Ji-Sung, Esteban Granero, Junior Hoilett, Jose Bosingwa, Ryan Nelsen, Christopher Samba, Loic Remy, Yun Suk-Young, Jermaine Jenas and Tal Ben Haim. I feel bad thinking about it
As well as spending more than other clubs, isn't it also because the FFP rules changed? So we were hit in the time when you couldn't overspend in any single season, and they have since changed it to a 3 year rolling cap. Being over 3 years means you can overspend for two, sell your stadium in year 3 to show a profit, and then overspend for the next 2 years. It's at the end of that 5 year period that lots of clubs who have sold their stadium and still not gone up will be up s**t creek without a paddle.
There won't be a good system for financial fair play in this country until corruption is rid from the sport. And good luck on that.
