This ^ is spot on Matt.Sometimes the cause of the depression is deep rooted, sometimes it's a chemical imbalance.
The good thing is you've recognised it, and are able to talk about it, those are massive steps some don't make, so well done for those.
I'd suggest getting expert help. Make an appointment at your doctors, tell them what's going on, and how you're feeling, and ask about counselling.
It's not easy to see when you're in it, but there is a better world at the other end of the journey you're on. Stick with it, and keep talking.![]()
