I’ve read on here that Denver Hume has 3 months left on his contract with us.

He looks like an outstanding prospect so I imagine that many other clubs will be looking at him. Any scout who is competent must have him in their sight.
He is already good enough for the likes of Leeds and Villa but City, Everton or Liverpool (for example) may well be ready to make a bid.
If we were still in the premier league and Hume was playing for a team such as Accrington or Wycombe we would expect to be able to just go and sign him for maybe 1 or 2 million.
If he’s out of contract who knows what he would go for so any agent worth his salt should be telling his club to get this great prospect signed up.

Do you think we will lose him this summer.
We don’t (maybe didn’t) seem to be very good doing contracts. I don’t know what the new owners are like when it comes to contracts as they haven’t been here long enough yet.
If we had been able to keep Maja I think he would have scored about 8 more goals than Grigg or Wyke and we would be second, pushing Luton for top spot.
Asoro and Maja are 2 we’ve lost recently and we’ve also lost Henderson and Pickford (although we got good money for them) 4 Academy lads.

I really rate this lad and I hope we can keep him.

Think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself bearing in mind he's only played 8 first team games for us, majority in the cup.

I agree he looks a prospect and we should tie him down but to say he's worth millions and could play for Leeds/Villa is a bit daft IMO.

Looks 10 times the player of Reece James mind.

    Until his injury
    We need him tied up

Already good enough for Leeds / Villa is a hell of a stretch. City and Liverpool being interested is pure fantasy.

The lad is a decent prospect but as has been said, has very little first team experience. I agree we should be aiming to tie him down ASAP.

If he has a good run in the team til the end of the season potentially some mid-table / bottom half Championship clubs might be interested. but if we get promoted I don't see him choosing such a club over staying with us. I think the only way there may be an issue is if we're still in L1 next season.

I think he'll be up there as one of our best academy products, don't have a lot to go on but it's what my gut instinct tells me. Mainly because he's got brains to go with his ability and it's a rare combination.

I do feel the premier league is where he'll end up and I hope it's with us.

Exactly the same case was made when Maja decided to go. This could be just as costly.

31, in the Premiership with millions of people watching all round the globe and featuring on MOTD and various other TV shows and newspapers, etc on a weekly basis.

Plus 29 apps in the conference, 12 in League 2, 51 in League 1, and 24 in the Championship. Plus a number of appearances in various cup competitions across a 7 year professional career prior to being snapped up by Everton.

Hume has made (I think) 6 League One appearances in his career to date?

    It's completely different.

I am 100% confident we will tie him down in the summer (we MAY struggle slightly if we don't go up), and the only reason we haven't renewed his contract already is because Jack Ross wants to get a proper look at him before deciding how much to offer.

I’d imagine a deal is in place, one for if we go up, one for if we don’t, and he signs as soon as we know our destiny.

I’m not remotely worried, he looks a prospect and a half and we no longer have imbeciles running the club.

    Tranquillo.

He will stay and sign imo. We will be a championship club and I dont think he is well enough known yet to appear on anybodies radar.

PS no doubt a mag journalist will say Newcastle want him just to cause an outcry but that will be the usual sh*te journalism.

a few more games under his belt and he will develop to the next level, then be teased away by a top club, but it will put a good wedge back into the club .Really hope he stays though has the potential to be a club legend.
