I have a theory.
That you need to be a complete and utter prick to be a H&S officer.
It's not a theory it's a fact MD

This industry is brimming with them.
Jobs for the boys and girls.
Job creation.

If you don't agree with the opinion of another individual it doesn't make their own personal view any less valid. That notion is just ignorant and shows your lack of imagination in any debate. I'm used to debating politics, , I've done it for years and I can assure you that my experience has served me well.
Like a clever man once said "an ounce of experience is worth a thousand tons of theory".
We are not debating personal opinion. The issue is fact based.
Lets start off with the fact that the entire existance of private health services is entirely underwritten by the NHS and the service it provides if and when required. Therefore private services do not have to fully and realistically fund their own service as they can always turn to,. or refer to , The NHS.
Not managed to find yourself an answer on Google again yet ?
Theres nothing more dull than a tedious cock-chaffer too dumb to recognise how stupid he really is.

It's not the NHS's fault that the country is run by corrupt , greedy , thieving bastards . You're telling us that private companies are ripping us off whilst wanting to privatise the the UKs biggest emoloyer .
That's illogical captain .
What harm is there running two systems...nhs and private healthcare?
I have fully comprehensive pmi...Will use it when I need that gastric band but nhs a+e/gp etc for common issues - right now sinus infection.

My political views are inspired by the likes of Joh Locke , Adam Smith.
I'm definitely going to stick on the side of the likes of those 2 as they are 2 of history's geniuses where as you're a guy off the Internet. I hope this puts things into perspective for you.
The public sector is awash with unaccountable monetary waste, the NHS being at the forefront. Private companies are capitalising on this, as would any individual witnessing such waste, like when the cash machine is giving out free tenners or when you find an auld woman's purse on your way home from the off licence and she's just collected her pension.
I propose a system that if you want to use the NHS, then you do, which you already pay for this "Free" service through you NI stamp.
If you don't want to pay for the NHS usage, then you don't pay as high an NI contribution and you use this saving to pay for private health care insurance.
This way, you get a choice and you're not paying for health care twice.

It's true , I am a guy off the Internet . A guy who knew that Nazi Germany wasn't a socialist utopia .
I dare Adam Smith would have known that too , him being a genius an all .
You on the other hand didn't . You even made a complete cock of yourself arguing your lunatic POV . Much the same as you've done on this thread .
I fear you willl have to study that wee bit harder Sarge . You have a bit to go before you reach genius mode .![]()
I think I agree with you. But I'd also point out the private sector is awash with waste too. The company I worked for last got Gabby and Kenny Logan to host our 'Strictly Come Dancing' themed Christmas party, where they also pumped money into teaching 8 pairs of staff of how to dance for two months before hand. In World Cup 2010 the ****s paid (allegedly) £5k for a giant ice sculpture of the World Cup for our summer party - about 1.30am there's a picture of me posing beside the big ****er, which had then melted into the shape of a giant phallus.
I think the difference is that private companies who waste money can go bust, so there is at least a bit of pressure there to watch what they spend, whereas the public sector never goes bust because it can just dip into everyone's pay-check to pay for itself.

lives in twechar^^
I've never done any development work in the public sector. The ****s have got that wee club sown up real tight. Useless garbage peddling arseholes like Capita get the work.

I bolded before I read the final paragraph. If the Private sector wastes money then they either lose profit or go tits up, the public sector is an 'endless' amount of money, unless of course you factor in the 90% debt to GDP ratio that we're nearly at.
We did a job in 2012 at UoS (Strathclyde Uni). The consultant (who designs the M&E services for UoS) specified at £20k steam trap that I was to buy, as a variation, up front, which wasn't required.... Now, I knew it wasn't required and asked umpteen times why we were putting this in. This **** told the buidler and the uni that it was my idea.... end of the day, the manufacturer and consultant were in cahoots and if it wasn't for having to buy this trap up front, and the fact that there was no room to put it in, then the taxpayer was about to pay £20k for something that wasn't required.
The framework agreements are so lucrative to the builders it's untrue, it's staggering the level of idiot that these ****s employ but they still get the work regardless if they make a **** of it or not.
