Grans are great, probably the coolest of all family members in general. Always let you off the hook... after smacking you round the head, but always got the best banter as well. I miss spending time with mine, she was a proper G in our family. Glad you managed to get so much time with yours mate. She’s probably left a million memories for you to live with and that’s all you can ask in the end. Peace bro.

Both my grans snuffed it when I was a kid, but my Mrs Gran lived to be 102. Her funeral was tragic though, there was 4 of us, plus 2 carers from her home. As literally everyone she ever knew throughout her life had already karked it.

Amen.

My mum's mum's sister (IE. my great aunt) lived to 104.

the old dear downstairs, opposite stabby mcfuck face flat is 101, just last week.

nancy, she's a good old bird, miss her sitting out front in the sun, now it's ****ing freezing.

It must be a confusing world, being that old. My great aunt Louie could remember the Eiffel Tower being built ffs!

My grandpa died at 63 and my dad died at 33 I almost completed the pattern when I lost consciousness and my heart eventually stopped beating when I was 2. Paramedics saved my life. Waking up in hospital is the most vivid memory I have, I can describe every detail including what my mum was wearing and what she told me when I woke up, even though I was two, I literally remember nothing else about being that age.

I reckon it's a good way to die. All that knowledge etc.

These old folks dying now have probably seem the biggest changes in history.

Eiffel tower, World wars, technology expanding beyond belief.

They had lamplights, letters delivered by horse, no TV, maybe a radio in later years.

They were not brainwashed, they lived, and fought, and died for what they believed in.

I have to give it to Comm, his timing is fooking impeccable!

Had to go to hospital today. So when I logged in this morning and the first thing I saw was a dead thread, I thought fooking thanks mate <doh>

I can't drive for a couple of days due to the general but that's nowt. As for the worry I was going through, certainly puts this place in perpective.

Letters delivered by horse is way ahead of our times. We still use people in Manchester.

It wasn't intentional mate.

Hope you are feeling better bro.

Commie, lad, here's a joke to help lift your mood...

St Peter gives God a buzz, one afternoon, in Heaven.

"Gatehouse, here, boss. I've got a bit of a situation."

"What's up, Pete?" asks God.

"Forty pikies have just turned up, asking to be let in. What's our quota looking like, this month?"

God consults his Ledger of Souls, and says "It's tight, Pete. Tell them to choose the twelve most virtuous among them, and we'll let those in, and the rest will have to go downstairs."

St Peter rings off, but is back two minutes later.

"They've gone!" he declares in a state of alarm.

"What, all forty of them?" asks God.

"No, the ****ing gates!"
