Could do that with or without the bald guy :p I just want someone who can pronounce foreign player names correctly.

I realise most of our fans can't - most people still think "Skatchel" is correct.

If sound travelled at the speed of light, there wouldn't be the slightest problem with the stadium system, because all the various sound reflections would arrive at the listener's ear almost simultaneously, or at least the difference would be so small as to not matter. Unfortunately, for our sound system's purposes, sound travels much slower at around 760mph or 340mps at sea level, which means that when you hear the sound reflections from the speakers from up the other end, or from over in the opposite stands, this combines with the speaker outputs much closer to the listener, to give a confused cacophony.

What makes a stadium exciting, by amplifying crowd noise, makes it a bugger for the sound system, unless special setting up and positioning is done. Incidentally, the reason why the Pompey crowd are [were..?] so loud at Fratton Park is because the big stand at the end is like an amplification horn, aided by the key at which the Pompey crowd sing the Pompey Chimes, which in itself is a simple chant, making it easier to sing more loudly. It's a few factors working in favour, not because Pompey fans have the capacity to sing any more lustily than anyone else.
 
Stadium announcements always sound to me like the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoons on TV. I actually don't mind Steve Bennett doing the halftime nonsense as he is a nice guy, having met him when I did a parachute jump. He is very enthusiastic, and certainly tries to entertain even if the cynical sods amongst us find him annoying
