Off topic, but you're not related to a David and John Ford by any chance?

He's actually twinned with Stanhope Ford. They don't see much of each other since the closing but still consider themselves close as blood is thicker than water anyway.

Completely agree with @Nig it's not a zero sum game. If FPP are as he says, interested in building up their stake in the club over a few investment rounds, and they like Donald's vision for the club (whether he's done well so far is irrelevant) then we'd be fools to assume the next cab off the rank is better than what we have.

Personally, I'm happy to see how he uses these funds and even if we don't get promoted, as long as he's using every resource possible to achieve that, and holding people accountable within the club, then I'll back him.

I’d like to see a big banner at the next home game saying ‘Fanzines out, Stewie in’

Do you not think we just need to stop the cycle though? The fanzines were representing the fans at the time they made it, regardless of whether I personally agreed with it, so I can't blame them.

Everything is different in 20/20. Just feel like that type of public hostility to fan representatives makes us look silly. If we didn't win in the next 3 there's every chance lots of people would knee jerk back to [HASHTAG]#donaldout[/HASHTAG]

Were they really representing the majority of fans? I don't live in the area so I can only go off fan forums and twitter.

I don’t believe they were. Most supporters I talked about it were pissed off from the second it was released. They didn’t even consult their own members.

It sounds like literally a handful of blokes were responsible for this.

I don't know if they represented the majority and feel they jumped the gun with the timing, but I think the climate was very hostile to SD three weeks ago and there's a lot of revisionist 'not in my name' schtick that I think if people look back at the posts being made en masse across multiple boards, by fans at the match etc, I can very much believe they thought they were doing right by most fans.

Anyway the point was that whatever they said, they said as fans who cared and probably felt that they were caught between letting it play out, and being accused of inaction. I have some sympathy for them, and I don't think turning on them as if there was never any problem and we were all very happy would be very appropriate.

I mean put it this way, in a month's time, you'll struggle to find anyone who was 'Parkinson Out'... people jump on bandwagons.

I’m disagreeing with this, too.

So many posters on here have come forward and said they wanted Parky out as it wasn’t just the results it was the lack of vision. They couldn’t see him building anything and these fans are more than happy to hold their hands up to that.

I’ve got zero sympathy for the fanzines. They were arrogant to even consider releasing a statement like that without consultation. It was irresponsible, selfish and they got a bit above their stations.

We were heading towards the wrong end of the table. It was a shocking start and like you say we were heading nowhere playing horrible hoofball tactics.

The turnaround is incredible, in all honesty and not something I could have seen coming a mile off.

The fanzines don't speak for me, but I can see why they did it.

Everything about what they done was wrong, imo. No consultation and the timing of it just coming into a transfer window was horrendous. If they’d consulted with everybody then I’d view it differently. At the moment it just looks like a decision made by a few impatient blokes who’ve thrown their toys out the pram.

RR asking if those on the pp out bandwagon are willing to eat humble pie. I'd like to ask them if they are willing to eat humble pie and issue a retraction of their Donald out statement if this run continues.

They’ve got some front. Send them a message today, Dan. I’ll do the same tomorrow.

Better still we’ll release a NOT606 statement declaring our love for SD and Parky. We’ll also ask for the fanzines to step down and stop trying to act like our mouthpiece. We’ll encourage Stewie to strip them of their status, season cards and their knickers. The little fannies.

I was on that, and that was my gripe with Donald, that it appeared he’d shanked the managerial appointment.

I said all through I only care for the club and it wasn’t anti-Parky, it was pro SAFC, and while I still have reservations about both I certainly ain’t about hounding either out.

I said at the time the issues on the park inflated a minor issue into a massive one, results have improved and so have the mood.

Stu shouldn’t have been out within days saying he was selling up, that was a glaring error, but he’s welcome to backtrack by the same token.

Cheers for that. It’s encouraging to read and I’m still convinced we’ll be in the hands of the yanks sometime in the future, whenever that may be.

I'm still hopeful FPP will takeover and SD is just touting to try to squeeze a few more million out of FPP.
