Poor choice of manager in the first place, but I think the way Norwich have went about things over the last few years has contributed to it. They've never made a go at it in the EPL and relied on having a team set up to bounce back without spending much. Now it's not working out for them, Smith's probably not the one to turn it round, but getting rid of him and expecting to be competing again might be a step too far.

If they get the next appointment wrong, they could drop right down the table.

Dyche is the early favourite

I have been surprised it hasnt worked out for Smith at Norwich. I thought it would be a good fit this season. He likes attractive football and isnt afraid to play young lads. That should have suited Norwich fans at least.

This is his first real failure I think in mgt. I did a bit of coaching at Walsall academy when he was gaffer and they loved him there. Thought he produced a good side at Brentford and had success at Villa, which is not an easy club to succeed at in any way. Seems a bit daft of Norwich, but maybe he brought it on himself. I suspect they will go back to the overseas coach again.

Smith will be back and be a success again IMO.

My in laws are all Norwich. Just texted brother in law with a laughy face and Dyce. He swore quite violently in response <laugh> <laugh>
He doesn't play the way that the Norwich fans would want, I've always thought they try to play decent passing football. Would be hilarious if they appointed Dyche tbh.

My view too mate. I like Dyce personally, think he is a very decent coach. Not sure he would suit their squad of players though. He probably needs to get back in sooner rather than later and prem clubs dont seem queuing up for his services.

I think he will jave to drop to championship personally. Gaffers like him (and Brucey etc) are being phased out.

Dyche said he plays the football he can with what he has to work with. Labelled defensive & long ball but it’s all he could do at Burnley.

He was there about 10 years though wasn't he? Surely 20 transfer windows is enough time for him to get the players in the style he wants to play.
