I know ours isn’t until later but still worth a watch, if we were to get a premiership player in on loan it would have to be today wouldn’t it?
Top class manager Carlo, I’m expecting Man Utd to be busy todayReligiously take the day off for it (forced this year as gobs still throbbing), off to a flyer Godfrey to Everton.
Building something there is Carlo, top signing that he’s potentially top class.

Smalling gone to Roma 15m. What you do right, when you're absolutely rank at the back, is sell a defender. There's no way Smalling is worse any of that shower yesterday.
Smalling been very good out on loan in Italy.I’ve always rated Smalling. Had half a bad season and they ****ed him off, showed over there that he’s still got it, so they sell him and keep Jones, Bailly and Lindelof? Mind blowing.
They should have been in for Godfrey, no question.
i dont usually subscribe to the circus, i still see it as another 'sky boy' creation for them to be 'exclusive' about...that said i may give it a watch as it is pissing down and i doubt i will get owt done the day.

It is a circus like, rob wootton shrieking at you, then the introduction of Jim white, I was gonna have a bottle for every time he shrieks but I’ve only got 184 in the fridgei dont usually subscribe to the circus, i still see it as another 'sky boy' creation for them to be 'exclusive' about...that said i may give it a watch as it is pissing down and i doubt i will get owt done the day.
Sky didn’t introduce deadline day it has been there for 50 years
As a sports broadcaster they are obviously gonna cover it.
did they not?
which programme featured 'deadline day specials' before sky then?...i was thinking back to before we had 'windows', when transfers were still done in DoS.
EDIT: actually had no idea but thought 50 years sounded too long ago and found this on WIKI:
The window was introduced in response to negotiations with the European Commission. The system has been used in many European leagues before being brought into compulsory effect by FIFA during the 2002–03 season.[2] English football was initially behind the plans when they were proposed in the early 1990s
No, it's the international window that closes tonightI know ours isn’t until later but still worth a watch, if we were to get a premiership player in on loan it would have to be today wouldn’t it?
What happened with the Argentinian lad, did he go to Huston Dynamo or is Donald pulling out all the stops to get the deal over the line? Last part is in jest. No, it's the international window that closes tonight

Is this a new thing? No, it's the international window that closes tonight
_ i never in any way said they made any rules whatsoever but they did jump in and make 'transfer deadline day' a big show, i liked tv before satelite/cable/droid boxes/firestick....There wasn’t a 24 hour sports broadcaster when there were 5 channel. _but sky were the ones who turned it into a 'showtime' thing, which was/is my point.
They were made compulsory recently but we had them here many years earlier, and way before the 90’s_ well i been around since the 50's and the memory may not be 100% now but, i cannot find anything online to prove they were 'brought in line' (across europe at least) before 2002/3..sky were around well before then though.
That’s confirming we were in support of plans to make them compulsory, we already had them. Was third Thursday in September or similar and dates back way before I was born in the 80’s._ around that time there was a lot of 'bringing certain workers rights up to date', footballers were always a strange one because people paid good money for the services, the only reference i found to the date (2002/3) was that previous to this time players could be transferred up till the 31st of march
Sky don’t make sport, or rules. They just broadcast and report it, something I’m very thankful for as I love sport and love being up to date.

i have tried to find some definite dates about this but the only one that keeps showing up is the 2002/3 one, some countries already had a 'window' system but there was a time when the UK had a 3 foreigner rule so overseas transfers were not really important, nowhere near what they are now...a lot changed and was altered after the premier league was formed, my own thoughts were that these windows came into force after that when there was lot more 'euro trade' of players, but also around that time i was drinking a lot and it was pretty much around the time i realised i had kids and 20 years had gone past.![]()
All fair comment, but then a lot of people, like me, love subscription sport and the option to watch all day.
There’s no right or wrong answer of course you can just not watch it, then buy a paper tomorrow, there’s the gold old days still existing.
