Valley it is pathetic, but I cant help thinking Hj will be getting these things leaked when we were not ever interested in them, but it will appease fans by saying we tried to get something in. But I agree, we have been a bit of a failure in the last 4 maybe 5 transfer windows. The sooner we actually get proper scouts in and a proper scouting network rather than someone who is looking on Fifa for ps4 or championship manager then we may have a chance of making some decent signings, but it will be for Championship players next season.
It seems that the whole of the premier league was prepared for this transfer window apart from us. I honestly don't think we've strengthened at all.

Williams > VDH (can't see him being an improvement but still unknown)
Gomis > Baston (unknown but likely to be an improvement)
Paloschi > Llorente (likely to be an improvement but hasn't proved to be so far)
Eder > not replaced
Ayew > not replaced and an important player last year
Fer > here last season so keeping status quo
Bartley > Mawson (unknown)
For me I don't think we've strengthened hardly at all.
Llorente doesn't seem to be prolific and struggled in the previous two games
Baston is going to have some serious pressure to preform hopefully he's up to the task.
In all I don't think that anyone can seriously day that we've dramatically improved our squad this window

Swan I still believe we are weaker, we have a badly failing Centre half partner ship, we have lost 12 goals and we may have replaced them with Baston, but who knows, we haven't strengthened our central midfield, where every other club has, ours ahs been the same give or take for about 2 seasons (maybe a good thing). We have just slowly moved backwards on backwards, since Hj has taken control of our signings. So no we are no way stronger.

I don't mind them beating us to him. I just don't get our strategy if we actually have one. I think it is sell the good and bring in worse players and then when you do wait until the last minute. I am still staggered we didn't sign a new striker till 1 week before the season starts. So no wonder we haven't managed to do anything in the last week or so.
The more I think of it, if were scrapping the barrel, lets not get any in. Huw will hopefully be gone come January and the Yanks can show us what investment is, by showing us the money, and get some quality signings lined up come January 1st, get them in bloody early because we will probably need it.
What has this window proved? We cannot compete with the superpowers like Stoke and Bournemouth.

I'm still raging that we signed ****ing Fer (the fat De Guzman) instead of Joe

Dodged a bullet there imo , a player with a poor record concerning injuries and a patty animal , not a good combination.
Wilshere on loan is worth the risk IMO he's undoubtedly a talented player that will walk into our squad
