Just had a look at planet swans and the pitchforks are being sharpened as we speak. I'm expecting protests and a lot of booing this season. The new owners should have shown the fans that we have ambition.

Swans have slipped to 11/4 for relegation with most of the Bookmakers and one as low as 2/1 .......it was not that long ago these same bookmakers were quoting us around the 7/1...8/1 mark

Well if the board think that the squad is good enough to stay in the Prem I got news for them.
Hope im very wrong but what ive seen tells me we aint good enough. For me a CB was vital.

Just seen on the news Premier League clubs spend £1 billion on transfers.

Yes, probably. We (as supporters) seem to go through the same angst every year at this time...totally underwhelmed, not enough new signings, afraid of spending money etc etc.

We HAVE splashed out on a record signing for the club in this window. Because he hasn't played yet, this seems to be forgotten. My opinion is that we have a squad perfectly capable of competing in the bottom half of the table and avoiding a dog-fight. Guidolin has a lot of experience and a decent record in the PL.

    Time will tell.

We've lost our 2 main leaders and not replaced them adequately. I've said before that during the Monk days early last season, the players heads dropped and it was Ayew, not Ash that was geeing the players up when we were conceding. We have neither now. I can live with Mawson and think he might end up being a good player so stick him in instead of Fernandez.

The problem that I can see is centre mid. Cork is fine and seemed against Hull and Leicester that he was finding form but he needs someone of equal ability alongside him. Fer simply can't play there, too lazy. Options are thin because they never recruited there so I say play Siggy there. He'll do a good job and then they could play Fer forward or even put 2 strikers up top. It may work and could be just what we need.
The passing game isn't coming back so 2 strikers would be a way of mixing things up that we haven't done for years.

Got to trust your gut in this and, after this transfer window and the start to the season I feel quite disappointed. I always try and put a positive spin on things for my son as we go to the games together but even he's telling me there's a different feel about the club this season and it isn't a good one.

My concern never is that on 'deadline day', their first, our new owners were in the States and not here

They'd obviously been informed by their CEO at the Club that the squad was strong enough....

Surely, they must have had questions after witnessing the Hull game at first hand........

Not being 'in the loop' is the worst possible scenario for devoted football fans' to deal with.
"We can see what's wrong, why can't they", is their mantra. But their pleadings go unheeded.
Their sense of not having any say/input into the goings on at their Club frustrates them to hell and back.
Transfer windows are their worse nightmare.
And so it goes, on and on.
Can't wait for January, when we get to go through it all over again. <laugh>

I think they're showing their naivety at this level and I'm not certain they truly understand the concept of promotion and relegation. In the premiership every team walks the sharpest edge tempered by the fear of relegation. In no other sport is the gulf between winners and losers so extreme. Huge profits, adulation and glory (life) vs relegation, devastation and humiliation (death)

My worry is that our American owners have little or no concept of the promotion/relegation system or have an inkling of what it truly means to us fans. They have grown up in a country who's sports do not have this system. There's none in AFL, NHL, NBA, or Baseball. I don't think there's even proper promotion/relegation in the MLS, is there? I'm not sure.

I hope they begin to understand and fast that Swansea City, along with any (most) other teams in the EPL, CAN get relegated and lose everything.

Waky waky eggs and bacey, time for our new owners to wipe the sleep out of their eyes and see what they've got and where they've got it. This is Football and this is the Premier League where losers have no protection of the first pick in the next draft and no second chance to try again next season, they're just gone.

Sorry I must have misheard but I thought by jenkins selling out to the yanks we'd be going to the next level so perfectly capable of competing in the bottom half and avoiding relegation is the next level ?

Dunno if anyone has posted about this.

The swansea official site announced that we have signed Valencia when in fact he'd signed for Everton. This for me is enough evidence for me that we're run by morons and sums up our transfer window.

    Well done Swansea city afc

They have done that before, when we were league 1. it seems whilst we had moved on the field it still seems in the background we are still L1.
