You've stated on numerous occasions since he was linked with United that Matic is ****.

    Now you've got Danny Dyerwater.

    Congratulations.

Twice....we have now sold him twice.
I kinda get why we sold him, he is a DM, we have the best DM in the world in Kante, so Matic is a little superfluous, even if he is very good.
Its not that we sold him that pisses me off, its that we sold him to United. ****ing madness!

I can't see why the two wouldn't work together. But whatever, selling hm to Utd wasn't too smart. He's one of the major pieces Mourinho had missing from his jigsaw..

I've been very impressed with him so far. Difficult to replace someone as good as Carrick but looks like we've done that. He's not all action and energy but neither was Carrick. He doesn't need to be when he's got Martial, Rashford, Lukaku, Pogba and Mickeytaker in front of him.

Herrera can't even get a game at the minute!

We played the both of them last season a few times, and most of the time, our midfield was flat, unbalanced and had zero penetration.
Our defence was tighter than a nuns ****, but we found it hard to unlock teams, and we usually had to bring on Fab with 20 minutes left to add some bite.

Shame really, because Matic is a very good player, but we just had a better DM. Still does not excuse selling him to United though

He is a very good player, and he will add balance to your midfield alongside Pogba.
He is exactly what a player like Pogba needs, someone positionally disciplined who allow him to have more of a free role going forward, which is why it was ****ing nuts of us to sell him to you.

Come on stan dont to all fatty pete on me as thats neither factual nor wummery. I stated matic is a good player and that he is a solid one but unsuited to us playing out from the back in a 343.

40m for a 29 year old is a good piece of business. Replacing matic for drinkwater is dumb. Lets end it there.

Only if, in the process of gaining that 40m for a 29 year old, you dont all but ensure that you lose the PL title to the team you are selling him to by giving them the perfect player they need to complete their XI.
    Ooops!

How much money will not winning the league cost us? More than 40m I bet.....short sightedness by our board.

Would have been selling him abroad obviously but i can only think they must have been doing out of loyalty. Else you are right it doesnt make sense.

Makes even less sense when we had no squad depth at all at cm and we were scrambling around for any old cm

Hardly a glowing endorsement of such a good player. But you've got Danny Dyerwater so you're laughing.

"Always thought that about Matic, just a solid player apart from his run of 6 months when he first joined."

And we end up with Danny ****ING Drinkwater........<laugh>

Glad this window has ended, our board are obviously bat **** mental. Just have to wait and see if Conte can spin this in to gold again, or whether Roman gets out the Axe.

You can dub what you like pal. The fact is that the minute Matic was linked with a move to United you started talking him down like a good fanboy.

Now you've got Danny Dyerwater. Congratulations.

You want some ketchup with your chips.

I talked him down on the chelsea board even before he joined you guys. Someones obviously been touched by my analysis.

I'm not wrong about matic though. Hes a solid player and one thats needed in a team. You dont need 2 though and we have kante for that role.

Our team is far too defensive with both of them in the team.

Yes danny is pants but ill be hoping hes a 5th choice midfielder

Ok mate, he's just solid, let's see how that works out.

Your manager's played a blinder alienating Costa because he thought he had Lukaku in the bag and selling Matic to replace him with Dyerwater :emoticon-0148-yes:

We will see how it plays out.

Our managers already had a blinder, hes won the league with an already unfavoured side that finished 10th the previous season and who nobody gave a chance.

And as usual the Chelsea hierarchy have shat on a league winning manager.

Would you have preferred Barkley to last choice Dyerwater? Obviously it's hypothetical as once Barkley had got to Chelsea he called his mam and asked her to take him home.

Why do you think so many players turned Chelsea down this summer?

I think we're quite pleased we only ended up with Drinkwater and not the rest of the average lot we were linked with.

    Crazy, crazy summer.

Now that the dust has settled, I reckon Man Utd and
Chelsky have the best overall squads for the
campaigns, though I still feel the Costa situation has
    been utter madness from Conte.

Citeh IMHO do not have the balance and I reckon will
    repeat the 2016-17 season.

Liverpool I feel could repeat their 2013-14 season.
    Attacking free-for-all, but defensively fragile.
Not sufficient to win the PL, but may be enough to
    get another CL slot.

    And to north London ...

If you could take some of what is good in one team
and give it to the other, there would be two immensely
strong PL contenders there. The fight for the PL 4th
place Cup is on. :( :)

Possible under the radar : Everton.
Will be interesting to see how Koeman does this season.

Danny Dyerwater is a bit of a Scott Parker / Steve Sidwell signing.

Decent English player lured to Chelsea to play close to **** all football.

They'd have been better off bringing a youth team player into the squad but that would have gone against the Chelsea feelossofee.
