Dunno who he is, but came across this guy when I googled it:-

Kunta Kinte (1750-1822; also known as Toby Waller) was a Gambian–born American slave.

Ironic, considering that Sports Direct run a ton of sweatshops.

Have you never seen Roots?

Have to say this is all a bit ridiculous. We need a CB better than Willo, a RB to replace Simmo, a winger to replace Obertan and a striker to replace Shola. Willo, Obertan and Shola add nowt between all 3 of them and everyone knows it, Simmo should have stayed for me but to not replace him with any one in the knowledge Raylor is out for the season is madness

This is the very reason why the rumour is that we're after a goalkeeper!

Shane Long on the move possibly....................to Hull. So it looks like both him and Rhodes are available. Either would be excellent signings.

That Kante is playing tonight apparently so doubt he will be signing.

Shane long to hull. Can't believe it.

Last day transfers.

Some of the latest moves.

Liverpool have signed central defenders Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori for a combined fee of about £25m.

Rodgers has now signed seven players this summer following the captures of defender Kolo Toure, striker Iago Aspas, winger Luis Alberto, goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and left-back Aly Cissokho.

More arrivals at Crystal Palace - as the Eagles sign Aston Villa midfielder Barry Bannan on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

"West Ham United still believe they have a chance of pinching Demba Ba on loan. Arsenal are in the box seat, other Premier League clubs interested too."

The clock ticked Six when I wasn't looking - and we have FIVE hours left of the summer transfer window. Somewhere in London Harry Redknapp is emerging from his afternoon nap to hit that phone.

Will we get any of the big deals over the line?

Stoke City chief executive Tony Scholes on the signing of Aston Villa's Stephen Ireland: "Arguably the most successful period of Stephen's career to date was when he played for Mark at Manchester City and we hope that he can rediscover that form.

"Stephen is a player that Mark [Hughes] knows really well and when the opportunity arose he was keen to add him to his midfield and attacking options."

Ireland, 27, made 138 league appearances for Manchester City between 2005-2010, scoring 16 times. His last Premier League appearance? 29 December 2012.

NEWCASTLE LATEST

BBC Sport's Saj Chowdhury: "Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said last week that a 'couple more signings' might be needed before the transfer window shuts. The bad news for Magpies fans is that it's a bit quiet as regards to incomings, but the good news is that it's quiet on the outgoings front too. As it stands, midfielder Yohan Cabaye will remain a Newcastle player. But I had it pointed out to me that, 'you never know with this club'."

Ah, Shinji Kagawa.

David Moyes may have the creative midfielder he is after in his squad after all. The Manchester United man did play a lot of games for Japan during the summer so may not be 100% fit, but will he play a crucial role at Old Trafford this season?

BBC Radio 5 live reporter Pat Murphy: "I understand talks between the club and Sunderland striker Stephane Sessegnon are progressing well with the clubs hopeful of securing a permanent deal.

"I also believe there are no hitches as yet in the proposed transfer of Peter Odemwingie to Cardiff."
