You're right there mate! I always have difficulty describing it. Wonderful place!
I was always at Flamingo Land or Lightwater Valley when the kids were younger, but they are not that fussed these days. I love getting out in the countryside for walks and often end up in places such as Hamsterly Forest following the trails..

Nowt wrong with a walk up to Penshaw monument, you can see the SOL from there, walk down the back to Cox Green, a quick pint then round to old Penshaw, through the Gil (Lord Lambtons woodland). A nice longish walk, but a buggar if the weather turns nasty. Or from cox green you can walk along the river to Fatfield, a nice little pub near the bridge, can't remember it's name.
Otherwise we got hoyed in the car and taken to Whitby.

Murray river is beautiful. My dad's a big fishing fan so we're taking him there for a few days/a week so he can go fishing mad while I drink cans on the riverbank.
My sister in law bought me surfboard/wetsuit hire in Torquay last year as a birthday present... My first thought was... ****ING SHARKS MAN. Closest I've been to punching a woman at full power in the face.
. Git big sharks aswell. Is it Oz (or maybe south africa) that call great white sharks, pointers? Sod being on a surf board and a git big **** off fin appears. People say jesus could walk on water. Thats **** all. Id break the speed record run across it. I think SA is worse for sharks but there's certainly plenty around here. I'm comfortable with my feet on the ground. The Murray is a weird river. There's "Yabbies" little lobster type things that nibble the living **** out of you. Cracking for Kangaroo/koala sighting though.
Yeah he'll absolutely love it. He's made up that he's going to get over... I thought he'd do a month/six weeks and he decided three months would suffice...

Nah that's all Queensland/the Terriory. Victoria's got plenty of Snakes but they tend to stay away from populated areas. The only native creature that scares me regularly is the wife.

Uluru... Formerly known as Ayers Rock. Not been up to the territory yet as we've been skinted by the wedding. Headed that way/Alice Springs (A Town Called Alice)/Darwin (The Jap's bombing site in WWII) around the turn of the year.
Oddly enough Melbourne/Adelaide get much hotter than that area in the summer. It stays pretty consistent at around 32ish throughout the year up there. Humid as feck though.
Ayers rock. Thats the one. Its hard enough remembering the names and then they go and change it. Uluru. Reet now i have to try and remember that name aswell

.i make it sound like Oz has a population of 341 as everyone else has been consumed by the wildlife. Bloody big place to get around by the look of it.

I live 20 minutes from Bowness on Windermere, go there out of season, never in the Summer, full of tourists. Detest Blackpool an hour's ride away and haven't been to Beamish in over 30 years.
Our favourite spot over here if the Trough of Bowland down by Lancaster, beautiful scenery & peace and quiet.
