Off Topic Daytrips.

Living down in Sussex, our day trips are usually to London or Brighton, love going to both.
We also do a lot of castles and stately homes, that's the wife's thing, anything that looks like Downton Abbey and we are there.

The place with the maze? Name evades me. Went there once.

Not sure of the name now Billy, it's been a good 10 years since I have been but I know it's still there. You know you are there by the queue's, normally right down the steps and down the street. It's near that Dracula House **** they have down there, a spooky house or something. Flattened the guy out there back in 1999, bellowed right through the mike in my ear just as I was walking past, it was like beating Christopher Lee up so I felt a bit guilty but told the lass at the time, **** it, I bet Peter Cushing fancied doing that many a time on set..<laugh><ok>
Aye, that's the one, used to be the Magpie. <ok>

Whitby has one of the best Chippies in the UK, worth a visit for that alone but it is tranquil, clean, a bit gothic, the pubs play cool music and it is probably one of the best places to take a lass on a decent day out.. If you can wade through the chip shop grease later in her gob, there's a night to remember in there too..<ok>
It`s certainly one of the most expensive (I presume you mean the Magpie) It`s a bit like Betty`s in York - an "in" place to go - nearly always a queue outside for a meal which is nothing special. There`s a better chippie on the corner by the pier and it`s about half the price!
Also, is there any chance you lot can stop bigging up our beautiful country, otherwise we`ll get loads of ex package holidayers clogging the place up!

I live a 15 min walk from Betty's in York City Centre, there's nothing around the corner that touches that place mate. My treat every week to my bed bound is a Betty's Strawberry tart and yes, I do walk up for it..<ok>

Have you been over to Leeds Castle? Its stunning!

Aye, I think you are right.
Best fish & chips I ever had was the Queen's Cafe in Seaburn which will be no doubt be stowed off all weekend what with the airshow being on.

The guy next door to me drives up there from York, books an overnight for him and his disabled wife just for the Seaburn supper as he calls it..<ok>

The guy that owns it has a great set up.
Not that big inside but he has two hatches outside, one selling hot food & one selling ice cream.
If it's fine on Saturday he'll make a ****ing killing.
