At the minute I would rather have all the other centre halfs we have been playing to play than Cooper. I like Mckenna, however getting sent off and costing us the game at Doncaster wasn't a smart thing to do, and you can see why it annoyed Bruce, you're new to a club and you lose 3-2 away at Donny after being 2-0 up, causing him to get stick as well as the rest of his team.

Good, I don't mind losing a game, as long as I know Paul McKenna is being taught a lesson.

He's 34 and he's never been sent off before, but it's a good idea to ram it home all the same.

We don't want anyone forgetting their obligations.

i like dawson, and dont get all the **** he has had from certain quarters over the last couple of years, thought he rightly won his place back last year and we looked the better for it.
not sure id bring him back in the current formation, as there is just too much work to be done as a wing back for somebody his age.
id look at bringing rosenior in down the right tho for elmo, nothing against him just away from home i think we need to do something to tighten things up and the more defensive minded player would help, id also bring evans in for oli, who is just too lethargic and casual to protect the defence imo.

mcshane -faye-cooper

You've saved me starting a thread.

I am getting frustrated with Dudgeon on the left side - he is an exciting prospect but I am fed up with him being fed with good balls to have a run with and get the ball into the area and then to see him check back and the ball being sent back into deep midfield and then defence.

On the right hand side it is a different story. Elmo runs at the defence and can come inside onto his left foot if he needs to.

Dudgeon is as singularly left footed as Dawson is and will not com inside to continue a run hence the checking back. Everytime the ball is fed to Dudge he will check and send the ball backwards - not on as we become a one sided team, do not stretch the opposition line and become very predictable in our attacks.

I would like to see Dawson back as he does all of the above but is a least a safe pair of hands defensively - Dudge is not yet and is caught out of position too many times and just doesn't have the experience or guile that Daws has to frustrate their wingers.

McShane did have a good one last night but is ALWAYS just one pass away from a ***k up.

Oli had a good game and started to show some strength on the ball. Koren I though had a great game and looked like a team captain - he was well marshalled though by the Blackpool line.

Dissapointed with last night, thought we would push on to get a 3rd at 2-1, we cannot keep playing as deep as we did to try and defend - it puts pressure on an already weakened and fragile part of our game. When we attack with pace there is no need to worry about defending like that - I though we handled the breaks well when they came so it was already better that Peterborough.

We'll end our losing run on Saturday at Hillsborough.

UTT

if we continue to play with wing backs, we need a new left sided one.

I agree Dudgeon wasted alot of great opportunities yesterday.

If we go back to 4.4.2 then it's no problem playing Dudgeon because he is a good left full back. He is not a wing back though and neither is Dawson.

I just put on another thread that in Bruce's interview after the game he spoke of individual errors and Duge being out of position for one of their goals, then said he was lucky to be playing as he had a knock on the knee in the previous game. I was annoyed at him singling Duge out and just hope with the knee as well it doesn't mean he will be dropped on Saturday. He wasn't impressed with Amos either.

I hope we see McKenna play again as he is a hard worker and a bit tougher then some of the other players. Thought Faye looked a bit to hefty and slow last night.

Does Bruce have a plan B or C? Yesterday we were crying out for a tough, physical ball winner in the middle of the pitch to support Oli and Koren. McKenna was on the bench and didnt get a look in! We've never replaced Ashbee.

What's confusing me about this is that Bruce is the manager that signed Cattermole twice.

I'm sure he would love to sign a player in the mould of cattermole but there probably isn't anyone available

What's confusing is that it seems like until we can find someone like Cattermole he's going to play without anybody in the middle who puts a tackle in, whilst a couple of players who do tackle are sat on the bench?

I'd love to know when Mckenna put in all these tackles. interceptions yes, tackles no. Never moved 5 yards from Chezz and Hobbs, completely exposed whenever he came out of that pocket or tried to pass forwards.

Been sussed by a Premiership manager now tho. I reckon more the reason he is out of favour is all those rumours he was wanted by Donny were true but he wouldnt go and Bruce needed him to go to bring in who he wanted.

Thats the kind of player we needed on Tuesday!!!

However anyone can say Dawson is past it is beyond me. He was just as good as always last season and we haven't even seen him play yet this season, so I've absolutely no idea what you could base that assumption on.

Re dudge, he seemed a good enough defender whenever played as a left back but it's clear for all to see he's not a very good footballer, by that meaning his technical ability with the ball. Think he's done a good enough job so far but if this 3-5-2 is going to be the order then we should seriously think about finding a proper wing back.
