I know Twitter isn't a reliable source but this site isn't Nufc.co.uk either and is meant to give users the ability to post anything Newcastle-related.
This rumour has me hyped up now, and I probably will be disappointed but that's what this time of year is all about.
I wouldn't have posted it if it was certain he WASN'T coming because that would just be irritating for everyone.
just sharing my enthusiasm on wht could possibly be a true rumour ^^

Definitely, but over the summer we have had so many false starts with other players that many of us (myself included) find it hard to believe stuff on twitter

Imagine if we got Santon, Pieters and a striker

Yeah I understand, but I think getting hyped up about rumours is worth it. I honestly don't think we're going to end up having signed no one. One thing is certain though, that we better prepare ourselves for a hell of a lot more over the next few days. Journalists are going to have a party linking us with random players every hour or so!
I can't wait to see what happens :D!

edit:saw the other posts but know we're a bunch of lazy feckers so posted the full article <ok>

Newcastle United have agreed a £5million deal for Inter Milan full-back Davide Santon.

Manager Alan Pardew has turned to the 20-year-old Italy international after hitting a snag in negotiations over PSV Eindhoven defender Erik Pieters.

Santon can play either side and has progressed through the ranks at Inter.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are considering signing Czech goalkeeper Petr Bolek on a season loan.

The 27-year-old from Slovakian side FK Senica also has an offer from Leyton Orient but is wanted as cover for Tim Krul and Steve Harper.

Bolek will take part in a few training sessions with Newcastle before the club decide to pursue the move.
might be some truth in it as pieters played today

off to bed, when i wake up............

...the transfer will be no further along than it is now. We are Newcastle United remember. While other clubs can show interest in a player and have him signed the same day, we tend to turn it into a huge saga spanning weeks, or even different transfer windows.

NEWCASTLE United are hoping to make a breakthrough in the transfer window by signing Inter Milan defender Davide Santon.

The 20-year-old has been on Newcastle's radar throughout the summer but talk in Italy on Sunday evening suggested that a £5million deal was close.

United are yet to verify the move but it is believed that the versatile full-back is on Alan Pardew's wanted list with the squad's lack of depth a concern going into the final few days of the transfer window.
