The weird thing is i felt a need to listen to his Greatest Hits album last night! Don`t know why, just thought, "lets listen to Bowie", I had been singing in my head, " Can you hear me Major Tom?" for weeks so I thought I would shove it on to cheer me up! And it did! Then I find out this has happened................... So Sad.... My fave Rock person ever.! RIP

This is just a terrible way to start the week. Truly saddened by the death of an absolute great. I don't think anyone has moved and changed era defining personas like this great man. Sleep well David you will always have me dancing.

Thats a bit heartless mate. Yes, people die every day, but how many of them have an effect on so many peoples lives in a large way. I know you like to be against the grain on most things, but i think you might find most people disagree with you on this one. He was not a saint or a huge politicall figure, but , for many so many people, he enriched their lives to some degree. I think your comment is crass. Yes, you are entitled to an opinion, but when people are expressing a positive emotion to someone passing on, to add a comment like yours to a thread that encouraging positive emotions, well, I think that is wrong.
Bowie had an influence on so many people. Whether that be personally or professionally. Life on Mars is still one of my favourite songs and always will be. You don't need to be a Bowie fan [I am btw] to appreciate his legacy. He will be a huge miss.

It's a shame. I don't mind some of his songs but I've got to say I never really got his music like many others did, or all the persona changing stuff he did. He did collaborate on one awesome song though:

I care more about the numerous atrocities happening across the world than celebrity death, however perhaps I should have kept it to myself.
