Though useless is going too far, I merely said he's had been more effective for us when he was out wide, he's been too quiet in recent games where he's played in the middle.

I'm not sure that calling him a piece of poo is likely to get the best out of him....

"he's on loan from Liverpool"
Other than that, all else I can think of is "I just scraped him off my shoe" or "I just flushed him down the loo"
