Just been released. If I could sign one player this window would be him without doubt. Cracking player whos got tonnes of experience just what were crying out for in our team, IMO could be the best signing weve made in a long time, hopefully NA is having a look!
(sorry its not on the transfer thread but it isnt really a rumor just an idea!)

not convinced, he would want to start regularly and would rather we started with cork and schneiderlin to aid their development

There will be a reason he has been released. If we were in the championship, then yes, take him. Just a little too far gone for me.

Wow, i said Danny Murphy a few months ago and got torn to shreads by more than one of the posters on this thread.

I think his value would be more from his experience of playing at the top flight thats one thing we badly lack, its a model which has served saints well in the past good players who have one more club left in them to help the youngsters. Anyway looks like I jumped the gun as apparently hes still in talks with fulham, oops!

Danny Murphy is a local celeb in Chester, and I saw him play a lot when he was a kid, and at Liverpool. He is a great reader of a game as he is a very bright bloke, he can tackle and pass long and short. Yes he's 35, but he has never been one to feature on the front pages and probably has a good two to three years in him. He is one of those who had no pace to lose, but is quicker in his head than most. He would be an excellent model for Morgan and Jack Cork and would allow Morgan to be more creative. Would be a great buy, and he could continue to live in London.

Danny Murphy is a great player, however I doubt we'll be looking for short term signings so is unlikely to happen. Having said that if we signed him I'd not be unhappy, just that more likely are players who can grow with us

There comes a time though when surely you have to have abit of experience you cant always just buy youn players, most of the great teams will have at least a couple of older heads.
