It's really nice to know that we have genuine merits here. I still think it's unlikely but if Welbeck is focussed on his footbal over ego and could see the potential to net a bagful, work with a great manager and team ethic & potentially further his England chances then never say never. It's what Huddlestone did...
Welbeck is the modern day Heskey. Very good footballer and has a lot strengths. Just can't hit a barn door with a banjo and is made a scapegoat for it
no way welbeck will come to us
I can't see us even being able to match his wage demands, can't see there being much chance of this one.
£12m is a great price, but you just don't sell you best striker on the eve of some winnable opening PL games.
It's a smokescreen, we're getting Hernandez.

West Ham to possibly bid against us?

Since when was Heskey a very good footballer?
So it was pure coincidence England had a better goals to game ratio and win percentage when he played. Look what Heskey did for Michael Owen's career
I didn't say Heskey was deplete of several attributes beneficial on a football field.
However very few people would describe him as a very good footballer.
Perhaps you. And his Gran.
Never say never. That is what many on here said about Huddlestone and Livermore last summer.
More likely to be a loan John,, if it happens at all.
He is not key to winning at Qpr. We can cover the loss of Long. You were obviously not @ Stutggart then. ?
Jelavic and Ince up top for me now on saturday.
As someone else said lets have a bogof deal for the pair.
West Ham dont have that sort of money to buy Welbeck.
Good point. Would be one of our best ever signing if we got him, seen a lot of laughable comments about Welbeck online but the lad is a top, top player, far better than LongHes good friends with Meyler from Sunderland days, Chester, Brady, Dudgeon will also know him from Man U youth academy. Hopefully small things like this will work in our favour
People like you know fook all about football, what absolute bollocksStill 19th top scorer in premier league history with 110 goals
Heskey get alot of unfair stick just like Welbeck gets purely because they didnt score enough goals and was extremely wasteful in front of goal
Both need to be alot more aggressive in their play
Welbeck is the modern day Heskey. Very good footballer and has a lot strengths. Just can't hit a barn door with a banjo and is made a scapegoat for it
Welbeck plays at the highest level for Man U in all kinds of positions so no wonder his goal ratio suffers, his work-rate is phenomenal and some of his finishing is exquisite, I hope he does get more aggressive one day, with his fists on Proud Fox maybe9 goals in 25 Premier League games last season, ten of them from the bench and many of them while being forced to play out wide, would suggest otherwise.
