QPR fan in peace. Among the 50 or so players we are linked with is Simpson. Miniscule chance of it happening, but what do you think of him, and why would he want to leave you?
Congratulations on a great season and some good football. Hats off to Pardew, and your scouting set up must be outstanding.

He is a decent enough player. Won't see any tears shed if he leaves though. Won't be a big miss.

His stats in the player index showed he was "statistically" the best or 2nd best right back in the league, but there are definatley much better out there. would be a shame to lose him but we'd just replace him with someone better.

Wanted parity with other players over his salary.

I'd be sorry to see him go. He has his moments but I'm a sentimental old bastard and wont ever forget any of the lads who helped get us where we are now. He's probably one of the ones who's position is most likely to be under threat though when we do strengthen the squad. He's be a good buy and I'd wish him well.

He improved a lot last season.

The guy shoots himself in the foot time after time. I was actually gutted when he left. He's never going to change.
He's ill, was beginning to pull things together in the last few games but never won us over, then blew it big time yet again. Deserves what he's got from the FA and whatever the club decides, but Tevez got away with it.

Ridiculous how tevez got off mind. Had it been anyone else bar Barton then things might of been different in the eyes of the FA.

Although Simpson has definitely improved since the championship, hes still not a good defender for the most part in my book, does certain things well, clears a lot of attempts off the line, and when he actually makes a tackle hes quite solid and precise.

However his main troubles are that he insists on constantly backing off his man, which frequently leads to crosses and shots coming into the box very easily, or one of our better defenders is dragged out of position to compensate, his positioning at times is horrendous and often leaves huge gaps for players to run into, these coupled with the fact that hes one of the worst fullbacks I've seen going forward leads me to believe he will never fully make it as a top RB.

You can probably do better, and we definitely can and hopefully will.

this really pisses me off, that the perpetator always gets away with it
I look at it this way would he of retaliated if he wasn't the victim,
the FA seem to choose to ignore these facts

He's a solid enough RB, but just not good enough for our level anymore.

I would hope he stays so he could be part of the squad. I think he's a great RB just not good enough for 1st choice 5th place team.

He got a **** load of undeserved stick from our fans last year, he got blamed from a lot when the whole team was playing ****. Him and Williamson were used as scapegoats.

Even though these two were in the heart of a lot of defensive errors in our bad games, it was still a full team **** performance that ****ed us over, and this would have added extra pressure on the defense.

You'd be getting a very good and rapidly improving right back. Much maligned by some but has put so many points on the board for us in the season just gone. He had about 4 or 5 goalline clearances alone. Very committed and leaves it all on the pitch. Had a handful of poor games but always gave 100%. When Steven Taylor was fit, our back 5 was so tight. Saylor, Raylor, Colo Simpson, Krul. All 5 big on heart and were literally chucking themselves around in true bulldog spirit.

I'd like to keep him but I really want to see Santon move into his natural role (may not happen if Debuchy comes in). Santon is fine on the left but moving him over he looks a much better player. I'd love Simpson to stay but can't see him playing 2nd fiddle to anyone. He had enough time bench warming with Man U

Thanks again lads, mixed reviews but I think better than our current options - Onuoha who is a natural centre back filled in ok as RB but we won't get the best out of him there or Luke Young who started well but seemed to lose confidence around Christmas and Hughes clearly doesn't fancy him. If Simpson brings commitment and spirit he'd be popular with us.
As I say probably no truth to it anyway as we are linked with everyone at the moment, definitely silly season.

He is the weak link in our side and I've been wanting him to be replaced ever since he started playing consistently for us. Can NOT defend and offers absolutely NOTHING in attack and his only saving grace this season has been that opposition players keep hitting him with the ball.

What a parcel of ****ing ****.

I was going to respond but that last part is just childish and stupid, not even worth my time responding to this crap.
