Tonight he will be making his 100th appearance for us against Blackburn.

To be honest i can't see him making 200, because i think we will sign a better RB in the summer.

Or stick Santon there, and maybe sign a LB.

But nevertheless congratulations to him, hopefully 3 points tonight.

dont see him hitting 200 though, as you say. It seems he's not wanting to sign the current contract offer, and that the club wont offer him a higher one. we'll probably unload him in the summer while he's still got some resale value, and (hopefully) sign a LB and shift Santon over to the right
 
First 40 odd would be in the championship, so not that surprising. We need better though.

He hasn't been outstanding but whatever you think of the lad it's an achievement to play 100 clubs for a team, especially a team like Newcastle who have improved more than a lot of clubs since his arrival in August 2009.
 
Simpson's improved quite a bit since he came and done a decent job for us, but like in every other job if your employer won't give you an improved contract and you're not happy, you move on.

I never understood why he hasn't signed. It's not like he's going to play for anyone better and consistently than us. IMO

If were offering him an increase, then why on earth wouldn't he sign.

Unless Carr has another gem up his sleave for the summer and told Pardew not to... Or something..:D

Anyway im ranting.

Good little player, just IF we get into Europe we WILL need better.
 
I quite like him to be honest, even if he has the odd shocker. I'd love him to stay as 2nd choice right back when we get a left back in.
 
We dont know what the offer is, to speculate and say he is being greedy is harsh. Done a good job for us, well done to him. And remember he's never had a winger like Jonas on his side, so his job is harder.

Agree. For people to talk about Best as though he is a top player and the same people who say Simpson is **** need to give their head a wobble. Both have their moments, but Simpson is more of a Premier League player than Best imo.
 
Simmo was very good in the championship and first season in the Premier League. Has been average this season though.
 
I want Simmo to stay with us even if it is only as cover. I think our long-term defence features one of Vertonghen or Cissokho; I wonder if our interest in the latter has unsettled Simmo as Cissokho's presence would surely force Santon to right-back and make him our new Perch.
