He's a talented winger, fast, good close control on the ball but crossing and decision making is poor, although I think that will change if he gets regular football. 'Arry fancied him as a left back but I think that idea might've died the day he left, he never looked comfortable there to me.
Whether he ever lives up to his talent, I'm not sure but if he scores a debut goal for you like he did for us I'm sure you won't forget him!

Maybe he'll be used as a utility player because Rose is an attacking player and I don't think O'Neill plays that kind of player at fullback.

He was made famous for the screamer he scored against the goons but not had much chance since. I'm not sure that he's a Sunderland type of player though considering as I do that your brand of football is a touch on the bland side even with MON there. He's more of a fancy dan.
In the season before last we lost Assou-Ekotto to injury with a number of games to go and Rose came in at left-back and did a pretty decent job.
Last season the same thing happened, but he didn't perform nearly as well.
If he's given a run in the side and allowed to make a few mistakes, he'll probably learn a lot and it'll show whether he'll make it in that position in the long run.
Given our lack of options in that position though, I'd be a little concerned to see him go out without a replacement.

I actually came on here re Van der Vaart, now I know his missus is hotter than the sun, but is it not a bit risky to be letting him trot off on the back of the Modric sale?
