We used to go down quite a lot mate (6 years now, thank ****...), and there's always a couple that actually are better in the Prem, different game in many ways, more protection and time, less cloggers kicking the **** out of you, you'll probs have a gem, maybe a wing back, they sometimes step up as the game is a bit more central in the Prem. Indeed you did
P.P. - thanks for your comments on this thread. As you'll be able to see, I don't post often, but it's balanced comments that most people enjoy reading (even if they're not always reacted to in a similar, balanced manner). For what it's worth, I think aluko is the only forward that we've seen premier league quality from. Graham is a clear step up from the best that I've seen from Fryatt and Proschwitz, though I do agree that they could still make the step up.
I liked Sunderland before Martin O'neill took over you, there's just something about him that I don't like!
No worries mate, I never came here to WUM, I can't be arsed, we spent today signing Italy & Argentina internationals, wumming is not on my mind. I genuinely think DG would be a good signing for you lads Mate, WE didn't like Sunderland while he was manager, there's a photo on my Facey of me and the 4 lads I go to the match with, we were snaffled on MOTD, 2 of us playing slaps, and the other 2 on their mobiles. We went out of duty, but it was ****ing painful.
@JamesNursey: Hearing Danny Graham off from Sunderland #SAFC to #Hull on loan. Tbc later this wk. Apparently Graham left Sunderland squad for talks 2day James Nursey is a Daily Mirror football journo.
David Burns ‏@bbcburnsy 4m Sky Sports saying Danny Graham left Sunderland training camp in Italy. I'd expect him to rock-up in Portugal at #hcafc training camp.
Honestly, I thought you lot would be fighting relegation. Based on your transfers so far, you look like you'll finish quiet comfortably. That Giaccherini is a great signing, played great for Juve last year and looked the part at the Confeds last month.
I think it was always gonna happen, our owner sold of the last of his businesses around Christmas, and as such was always gonna be more hands on. The decision to change gaffer with 7 left was brave, and it worked, and then to poach Inter's coaching team was an incredible coup. We were signing solidly, but Peruzzi & Giaccherini seemed a bit 'cloud cuckoo', getting them over the line, and keeping Sess, is all very exciting. Cabral really impressed me 3 times for Basle in Europe, so I have high hopes there, and N'Diaye, well, I reckon by Christmas we will be fighting to keeop him, based on the last 6 of last season. Johnson was superb last 5 games as well, he really bought into Di Canio and looked the part. It could go tits up, but with Fletch, who will always get goals, and a midfield full of options, we should be ok. Danny Rose would be the cherry, and he is desperate to come, looks tough at the minute but who knows! Anywhere between 8-12 is great progress, then kick on.
Bit O/T (but slightly topical based on the clubs involved), but I just looked at the fixtures and my birthday is when City play Sunderland away. Sorry, little bit bored
Well, we had 12 points and 10 goals from 4 games last time, so for all I wish you well, I expect us to keep that up
I've been purposefully ignoring the not606 pages recently as the closed season seems to bring out the ******s........been back for about 10 mins reading this thread and boy was I right to take a sabbatical.....some proper buffoons on here spouting utter ****e, not just in relation to Graham's ability but then trying to get into pissing contests with other posters.....For the record, my opinion is that Graham, on a perm or loan would be a good signing, 14 league goals in a season is not to be sniffed at, last year he became bit part because of Michu and then got unlucky at Sunderland with a badly timed move and negative football. He will undoubtedly improve our attacking options, it is a total no brainer.
And my opinion was he won't bring anything new or fresh to the squad. But then some just like to argueâ¦
A lot of us on here would have taken him when he moved to Sunderland originally and I would happily take him now, will be a good addition
Honest question (which I also feel is quite a good barometer) ... How many of you will be putting DG in your 'fantasy football' teams? ... and if not, why not (be honest)?
