Dai,you keep on saying that you agree "with our manager",but I only ever read quotes from him that are of a positive nature, whereas yours are always negative.

Perhaps you are holding private one on one discussions with Rodgers, where he confirms your opinions.

    Pray enlighten us. <whistle>

Dai - our manager has stuck with Graham all season. The reason he did that, and the reason he broke the club transfer record to get him, is because he is a good centre forward. Now, you might THINK it's acceptable to knock our 1st choice striker as long as once in a blue moon you give him a back handed compliment, but it seems that you are literally the only person with your view and everybody else on here, and that i've spoken to out and about, thinks he is a good striker who works his balls off and deserves nothing but respect for that. What does he get off you? "We should ship him out - at least Brendan agrees with me". Stop tarnishing Brendan's name with your ill-timed opinions, as you clearly haven't got a clue what Brendan thinks and don't share the same views. If we get a player in who improves the team, brilliant, but to consistently knock the best, and only, option we have is, at the very best, incredibly daft and ill-thought-out.

Only in the sense that he acknowledges we need to strengthen. Nowhere has Rodgers said anything other than DG has been magnificent for us this season.

Everyone misses sitters ........ not everyone gets a dozen goals , runs defenders into mistakes , is important in defending set pieces , scores 27% of the teams goals , is at the center of team cohesiveness & does all this in his rookie season in the Premier . Can't wait to see his 2nd year !!

Brendan's words were we have had a great season but it will be a lot harder next season and we must finish a lot better because is odd that we are where we are with nearly half the fixtures without a goal...now what part dont you understand??? we need a striker that can finish better than danny has this season as we wont survive as we are in our second season where everyone knows how we are going to play. why were we hammered by qpr and norwich??? work it out as brendan has and anyone else that dont wear them rose tinted glasses on...we have to get better finishers for next season...its as plain and as simple as that....hence we need 3-or 4 players a bit better than some in the current team....i totally agree with brendan's thoughts about next season..<ok>

But it's the whole team that hasn't scored, not just graham ! We need a better contribution from all players next season. Singling out a player for ridicule and that has scored a goal every three games who is one of the top scorers in the league, is not right!

We need to strengthen not diminish the side, Graham will have play a large part of our season as he is now a proven premier league player who can score. What Brendan is saying is that we need to bring players in that will help our side, not get rid of integral parts of it if we can help it.

if you listen to brendan on talk sport then he is on about bringing in 5 or 6 players for next season, that is half the playing side. he is not stupid he knows we cant go nearly half the season without a single goal. he knows that we have missed numerous goals due to bad finishing....and scott he had to play danny as he is the best we have got and he works hard and if only he could finish better then he would be ok.....listen to what brendan is saying and look at the big picture and its exactly what im saying...we need to be a lot stronger next season for sure.....

Finishing ability is innate. You either have it or you don't but it can improve with coaching. The best forwards are instinctive and the ability to put a ball away doesn't really depend on the opposition per se. If you're in a position to score then a good finisher will do the business no matter what division he's in. The reason why players like Scotland didn't do so well in the Prem include a lack of pace and an inability to find that extra yard to pull away from classier defenders. Nothing to do with finishing ability which he always had - and still does. Forwards also have a lot less time in which to make their decisions in the Prem - hence DG's dramatic goal reduction from last season.

Danny Graham is a proven finisher in the Championship even if you don't accept that he's been good in the Prem. Criticise if you want but don't have a go because he is a 'bad finisher' because that's just wrong. He may not have been as effective in this division but that's an entirely different point.

danny graham has played all season so he has had plenty of opportunities to improve his finishing. getting the odd goal here and there dont wash, he has missed the target more times than warrants him being a lone striker. its know wonder brendan is desperate to bring in another striker. if he wants 5 or 6 players then he knows we have to score more goals when we get the chance, you cant go half the season again without a goal.... and we are happy finishing 11th but with all the missed chances by danny and sinclair this season and other players also then we could have equalled our record of 6th place and a place in europe. it does not matter about the fact we survived, its what we have lost out on with diabolical finishing in a lot of our games that is worrying and thats why brendan wants 5-6 players to strengthen on this past season. Brendan is looking at the bigger picture and will bring in players who will need replacing... .

Okay we are a mid table team, with players who have mid table abilities, what goal numbers do you want from a mid table striker ? Only one player from a team below us has scored more than Graham, and that is Holt at Norwich

I am following Dai's logic now.

Where we went wrong was only spending £3.5 mill on Graham, who only scored 12 goals.

We should have pushed the boat out, gazzumped Liverpool, and bought Carroll for £40 mill.

Just think where we would have been, had we shown that level of ambition?

Carroll's FOUR goals would have got us relegated. That's where. <whistle>

Wasn't Shane Long more expensive, and heralded as a better striker? How'd he do?

According to dai's logic, we are signing 5 or 6 players. Which in his words is 'Half a team'. So as you are so close to Brendan, would you like to tell us who the other 4 or 5 who have been under performing and who we are going to replace. Maybe Sinclair for missing a penalty, Maybe leon for giving the ball away twice against liverpool or could it be Williams I am sure he was beaten in the air twice by Carrol yhat surely justifies being replaced.

Get a grip and get a life. DG has been superb for us this season and will continuue to be next.
