The case for is gathering pace and backers by the day.
But do Saints fans welcome the growing interest? I would imagine given our recent history that this could lead to concerns that bigger clubs will try to sign our new hero.
But fear leads to the dark side and I personally think it would be absolutely stunning to see Danny lead the line at the Euros this summer.

Would love him to do a Rickie against the Italians in March and score with his first touch personally although I realise it's won't be his debut.

He deserves to play for Ingerland, no doubt about it.

On a purely selfish level, I dread him getting injured.

Southgate will probably still pick Welbeck in front of him.

Exactly. Sorry, Danny, but I don't want you tired or injured.

He can play when the Premier League season is over and he has signed a new 5 year contract.

Yep, then he'd go kids the French badge or similar.

    Adam Le Llana indeed.

Can’t see him playing too much with Rashford and Sterling around but it’s still very exciting! Wonder if Vardy may be talked out of retirement too

I heard on some vague radio station that if Ings keeps up his form, not only will he play for England, but a "big club" will snap him up.

    Once again, zero respect.

For Danny's sake, I hope he not only gets the call, but plays a decent amount of minutes. For Saints sake, I hope he stays at home so that Southgate's lot can't break or distract him.
I'm always club before country so I'll be quite happy if he doesn't get the call

Thing is Danny has had a big club. Hopefully that is out of his system and he is happy with his boyhood club now.

This is how I see it, though if he thought he couldn't get an England call up here...

With Rashford crocked he must have moved up the order a bit!
