Now then,

Whilst you're all no doubt rubbing your hands about the prospect of signing Brizzie City's want-away striker Maynard & winning the division with 100+ points.. (made that up.. but admit it..) it's come to our attention that Lesta might be after Daniel Ayala of Liverpool a 20 year-old central defender we had on loan last season. He also went on loan to Derby. It's only "rumours" and we also hear you're interested in LFC's Plessis another young'un.

And don't go on about obsession, Andy King's Crown Jewels is always on our boards, I'm just enquiring about a player which apparently concerns you too; or it may be that Lesta are mentioned in every transfer rumour under the sun cos they've got cash to burn & it's lazy speculation...

Would he get selected at CB anyway with the Foxes?
 
If im not mistaken we had Plessis on trial but Sven came out last week and commented that 'he went back home at the first possible opportunity' - so i dont think he quite cut the mustard. As for Ayala thats the first time ive heard it - i cant see how he would fit in - he certainly wouldnt start and would just be a bench warmer. I do not expect there to be any truth in these rumours.
 
I think you've misinterpreted the article there mate. As I read it, it seems more like Hull want Ayala and we want Plessis. However, as mentioned above, his trial was very unsuccessful and we won't be pursuing that.
 
He wa one of the best CB's I saw last season.


I'd take him but i'd still play Mills (who was the best CB I saw last season) and Bamba who is pure class.
 
Ayala is quality but teh article didnt say we wanted him.

good player you'd be getting there, but wouldnt make our squad.
 
Probably an agent trying to push up Hull's offer by saying they are competing with us which I very much doubts for the reasons stated above.
 
I think Sven is done with defence and midfield,
Hes bought in 6 new defenders and re-signed one that ran out of contract.

They sound like they need him. They are pinning their hopes on Kisnorbo being fit for the whole season <laugh>
 
Were not after any more defenders. Michael Ball and Aleksandar Tunchev will sign deals and then the defence is sorted

St Ledger is utter crap, if he is so good how come he didn't get player of the year at PNE last year when they got relegated. It no coincedence that him and his defence let in 79 goals last year....

Where as Hobbs and Ayala played there parts in making us the joint 4th tightest defence last season.

I suspect it is Pearson's style of play rather then any individual players which made Hull's defence so tight last season. Not that this is a criticism.
