    Excuse my grammar Mrs Vorderman!

No if you're right hats off, but I have a feeling you're not somehow. Especially after the Morison/ Tierney/ Holt saga you mentioned.

What's the source? All sound reasonable except Didier Ya Konan- he was linked with Bayern Munich and would cost something like 10m so I doubt we'd be able to afford him/compete with other buyers

I don't know, I'm only repeating what a friend of mine, who works on the legal side at CR, has told me.

It might be complete B******t but he's been correct more times than he's been wrong.

I guess if they decided not to pay attention to the words 'number 1 target' that was clearly included in the question, and then read the question as something completely different then yes, I guess they probably would <doh>

Sorry YellowLittle but I've been beating my kids up with regards to their grammar (not literally I might add)
Yous is another one, you can blame the Scousers for that one!

    Apologies

    did somebody call?

some of those suggestions sound like possibles - i have no insider knowledge AT ALL re: transfers at this moment in time - not heard a peep out of anyone! didier ya konan sounds unlikely though - he was linked with barcelona and bayern munich a year ago!!

Only when they make stupid mistakes and fall asleep. I agree though we lose the ball and other teams end up running us off the park which is one reason why I always want Fox to play, even though he had an absolute weston against Liverpool.

I couldn't agree more about giving the ball away except I'd add Holt to the Fox theory. The reason we give away so many goals is because the centrebacks are constantly being pulled out wide. Ward is great in the middle but as soon as he's out wide disaster ensues, done everytime as soon as he's surrounded by space. The system is a big factor in the defensive frailty, just as it is a big factor in our high goals scored count.

I don't think any team in the PL has coped well with speedy wingers - even Pilkington was able to almost 'glide' past the Chelsea defence on some of his runs (then spoilt it by putting in a terrible cross!!!). I'm sure that I along with most NCFC fans would like a lower 'goals against' total next season, but if we can manage a similar 'goals for' total as we did this season, then I'll be very happy. <cheers>

It seems like we cannot get a foothold in the games once possession is lost, it's strange like when we manage to get ball we cannot string four passes together. The Diamond winds me up sometimes it's either great or fails badly especially with the defence losing shape. The first half of the season I noticed we were dreadful at set pieces, sloppy at clearing the ball etc.

Swansea have agreed a fee for Sigurdsson, cracking signing for them. Come on Lambert, get your a**e into gear...

I still think Fox can play with an enforcer if we were to play the 4-2-3-1 which I personally think works well. You could have Fox deep lying playmaker and have enforcer sweeping up around him and Howson/Wes in the attacking midfield position. Or have Howson playing deeper as a central midfielder and making his bursts forward, but that could be too defensive to play at home

his transfer intrigues me massively. i thought he was probably the best signing in january - his all round game was exceptional and he slotted into that swansea team perfectly. for a club like swansea to pay £7.2m (possibly rising to near £10m) on one player is a big gamble, no matter how good he looked last season. and that's the thing - why are none of the big clubs in for him? i'm astounded that bigger clubs aren't in for him, so you have to ask the question, why? he's a goalscoring midfielder - they are hard to come by. at a glance he looks perfect for arsenal, chelsea or united. i still think he's a good player and will be a success at swansea and they may well double their money on him in 12 months time if he carries on the kind of form he showed since christmas. but if he flops, that's likely to be half of swansea's budget blown on one guy. its a risk, calculated admittedly, but it made me wonder if we want our manager to chuck that much money on one player or whether we could make three transfers for the same money.

Seeing as he was on loan at Swansea, they would have had first go at him.
