Not very often I get to open a midweek daily thread these days but I'll do this one as a horse I've been waiting for is out.
3.40 Thurles: GO ALL THE WAY 9/4 (NAP)
Anyone from 606 Refugees website last year might remember I put this up as my 40/1 e.w selection (with Victor Chandler) for the Champion Bumper and he was a staying on 4th, very much in line with his pedigree (By Milan, who rarely has good 2m bumper recruits- they all do better over further), and I've been intrigued to see him up in trip and over hurdles ever since. Alan Potts, the owner, has got rid of Nigel Twiston-Davies (amongst others) and has all of his horses back in Ireland. He has sent Go All The Way to Jim Dreaper, a veteran of the scene and I wonder if he can get the horse to really fulfil his potential. I really hope he can win today because there is certainly the talent there. I couldnt recommend a bet because the switch of yards and hurdling debut mean it is always slightly risky. But my gut feeling is that he has been doing fine at home (They have really taken some money for him for the Albert Bartlett on Betfair, into 55s having been 200+/1 when I covered it for a £2 stake!) and I am hopeful we'll see some nice improvement up in trip.
Whatever happens, he will come on for the run.
Have a good day folks
