CAP ELORN 10-1 6.10 Worcester has been a clumsy bugger over fences so far. My understanding is that he has done a lot of schooling to get his jumping spot on. In the meantime he has dropped to a very handy mark and off 89 he can make it count tomorrow. David Bass rode a double for the yard last week so they are bang in form. I expect this one to be gambled and win!
 
Black Treacle- 14.20 Catterick 10/1 E/W Like the look of this one, ran well at hamilton last week over 6f and is easily open to improvement

Meetings Man- 15.10 Yarmouth- 5/1 Won over hurdles at Market Rasen for his new yard back in june, the booking of Adam Kirby is impressive to, he must be in good deed and is a good value price in a wide open race

Please explain - a horse that has been unplaced in 10 attempts has NOW had major schooling to ensure it can jump?
Why did it take so long? Why did it start so high up that it needed 10 attempts to get it to a reasonable mark?

I am NOT questioning your reasoning but if must have been mighty expensive to train it until now should it win!
 
7.20 Kempton Desert Strike. 4/1 This horse needs no introduction on the all weather. In form Hayley Turner should do the business. High draw is a disadvantage but at 1/4 odds for 3 places this is an ew bet to nothing.
 
gaz, this horse is a decent jumper but if you look back at his recent runs some sloppy errors have cost him his chance. sensible yards go back to square one and get some serious schooling done, often with the assistance of decent jockeys rather than the usual stable staff. I am led to believe that David Bass has spent a fair bit of time at Woodway Farm recently and its paying dividends.
This particular stable have some very good facilities and their horses are usually well worked. if you check out their record they have very few fallers.
The fact that this one has blundered his chance away a couple of times has led to the handicapper becoming more lenient. That leniency and the fact that the yard have probably smartened up his jumping lead me to think that he is a "bet" tomorrow.

Big fan of this horse been on him at last 2 wins, but cant have him tomorrow, high draw as you say and this a tougher field i fear may find him out!
 
Catterick 16.20 This looks a very tricky race but I have a sneaky feeling that Needy Mccredie is over priced at 12/1 and might be worth a little ew.

She is up to 7f tomorrow after several runs over 5 and 6f. She should have no problems at all with 7f, having won at Carlisle twice and finished second at Carlilse and Newcastle on GS over 6f. Catterick is a much easier track than Carlisle (and Newcastle). She has also been placed over 7f at Catterick on both GS and GF going. Graham Lee takes the mount and the only other time he has ridden her was a few weeks back at Catterick where they were victorious at 8/1.

Her highest Timeform master rating in the last 24 months was 12 months ago on GF going over 6f at Carlisle. That was until her recent win on this course. In her last 2 runs she has beaten just one home but was totally unfancied. With GL back in the saddle and returning to her last course win I reckon this could be as good a chance as she will get. Worth a market check to see if there is any confidence around.

10s now with 4 layers but SJ has her at 14s
 
Don't know how much Roger Charlton fancies his Royal runner today at Lingfield as his site has been hacked by some set of numbskulls (they did Meehan a few weeks back). But Candoluminescence has improved with every run and should be much better suited by 10 furlongs.
I'd offer up a double as it must be a long time since Ballymacoll laid one out for Catterick. However Northern Meeting's two siblings (Dumbarton and Scottish Vespers) have been proper rogues, and I won't trust her until I see she's resolute. However if anyone can get a rogue home it's Fallon.

Dreadful day's racing today, would have been the Child stakes and the July Stakes if sense prevailed.
 
Morning, people. Hope everyone well. It’s far, far, far too hot, right now, to have a real rant so instead I’ll have a good old fashioned lament.

Troops, last month we had the Windsor Forest Stakes, a lovely name for a race for fillies, being renamed the ‘Duke of Cambridge’, in ‘honour’ of the Queen’s freeloading grandson, and now in 48 hours time we have the ‘Cherry Hinton’, another lovely name for a race for fillies, being thrown on the scrapheap in favour of the ‘Duchess of Cambridge Stakes’. This is blatantly another attempt by ‘Clarence House’ to make us ‘like the pair’ but why the heck should British racing continue to bow and curtsy (and in the process turn itself into a laughing stock) to the most outdated institution known to man?!?

I haven’t even looked at the old gee-gees thus far and for that reason it’s a ‘no bet’ for me today. I'm not waving the 'no bet' banner though as its too bally hot for all that malarkey.

Good luck though if you do trade.
 
Fair comment this time SBC. The Cherry Hinton is far more meaningful to all of us. Newmarket have no need to do this: they are just being toadys.
 
Only 4 declared, at the final entry stage, for Friday&#8217;s Group 1 £180,000 &#8216;Falmouth Stakes&#8217; at Newmarket! Most disappointing, methinks.

Moving away from the glorified ponies William Hill have shortened old boy Suarez to 10/11 to be at The Arsenal following the closing of the transfer window I see. And Skybet now as low as 8/11 about us resigning the best player in the world by September.
 
Now, now, Stick. Calm down old boy. The stadium is well on the way to being paid for and dear old Arsene now has a pocket full of loot. Surely a shrewdie like your good self took those early quotes of 16/1 for The Arsenal and next terms Premier League. I can&#8217;t for one moment believe you missed out.
 
Not keen on Suarez playing for Arsenal. I took an immediate dislike to him and his subsequent antics have done nothing to reverse that
 
Afternoon all looks a lot better today keep it cool and thrust control look good value ew singles and double I should finish early tonight so may get some good studying in on a tablet rather than my phone good luck all
