    Sweet Refusal 10/3 Clonmel 6:55

At first glance it may seem hard to understand why he will replace placings with Saturday's winner Longshadow at Wexford but if you look closely at the run you will see why. Shane Foley got Sweet Refusal out slowly and dropped him right in the back over 1m 4f at Wexford, being at the back in a flat race at Wexford nearly alway's spells doom as the track is so sharp it is hard to make any ground unless you get a few gaps to open your way. About 3f out Foley who was travelling almost best of all still, went for his run but was denied two runs through when the gaps closed immediately halting the horses progress so he had to sit an suffer until they rounded the bend and he made nice headway into 4th over a small run-in. I've no doubt he would have won Saturday had the gaps stayed open. Today's trip is 2f shorter but Clonmel's track has a nice 2f run in and isn't as sharp so hopefully Foley will make a bit more use of him and keep the horse closer to the pace today as we know he stays 1m 4f.

Sweet Refusal was 2 lengths 2nd to Todd 2 starts back (Todd now OR 71) which shows he is heading in the right direction off a mark of 50 and holds Scelig on that form, he was upped 5lbs for his run Saturday but he clearly looked a horse capable of winning off that mark plus more, he goes off 56 today but I am convinced this fella is a winner waiting to happen.

I remember you put him up before stick and I think he went fairly close at like 11's or that, I think. I will have a small bet then because i'd hate to miss out on the fun.
