So what? It's dangerous and so is driving a moving object at 70 mph whether you're an idiot or not.

I suppose house fires are safe if you take the idiots out the houses.

That's a false comparison.

You can either compare house fires to car crashes - both of which are dangerous when they happen - or you can compare driving a car to living in a house.

The rate of death in house fires is similar to the rate of death in car crashes though, so that bit is a good comparison.

There are an average of 37000 house fires in the UK every year. 200 people die in house fires every year. So approximately 0.005 people die in each house fire.

No it's not... Your argument was that if you took all the idiots off the road that the roads would be safe.

You're wrong because people would still die in accidents for all kinds of reasons every day, so that's hardly safe

Not all road accidents are someone's fault.

Ok, I'll bite. What sort of accidents would people still be killed in if you took out human error and everyone who drove a vehicle had the correct level of driving ability?

Human error? Funnily enough I was going to say human error doesn't make you an idiot. Are you going to remove human error from existence?

You can bite all day long mate, but driving will never be safe.

Far from it.

You can draw up as many comparisons as you want, but it doesn't make driving safe simply because something else is also dangerous.

There's no way out of this

When it is often the same driver's making those human errors over and over, or unable to drive to the conditions then I would suggest they may well be idiots for continuing to drive.

What sort of accidents can still happen? You didn't answer the question.

There's countless different accidents and I actually provided a few examples much earlier before watching you sink further and further into my quicksand.

I'm now of the understanding that you've come up with a formula to remove human error from existence.

Congratulations I think your certain to win a Nobel prize.

You will never remove human error completely, but there is more than enough room to reduce it on the roads. The biggest things would be for people to actually learn the rules of the road, try to drive considerately to other drivers, be aware of their surroundings and adjust their driving to suit their experience, ability and road conditions. Just those four things alone would cut out the vast majority of road accidents and deaths.

Apart from the falling trees and random flying objects in high wind you didn't provide any examples that wouldn't be negated by driving properly and according to your ability and the conditions.

The only one sinking in quicksand is you. Quicksand - now that is dangerous! (but only if you're an idiot)

You've just agreed that driving can never be safe and at the very same time suggested I was wrong.

We've already agreed it would make it safer and the r on the end of safe is key.

Stop struggling... There's no way out of this mate.. I've got you bang to rights

I haven't admitted that at all. Are you saying that any situation where human error can occur is dangerous? How do you ever leave the house??

We've already agreed it would make it safer and the r on the end of safe is key.

Agreed. It is relatively safe but could be safer.

Oh you did and again in this one

We're getting somewhere now aren't we?

A **** and a necrophiliac!!

I prefer warm ones!

I just think fannies need appreciated. Indeed I think we should be carrying out investigations into their mystical powers. For instance they can take a hell of pounding and yet like high quality leather, just go back to shape. Like leather they become a little distressed as they get older, but their ability to regenerate could be worth looking at more closely for real world use.

I'm happy to do some of the investigating. I'll take the 18-30's, the rest are yours <laugh>
