It’s international break, so just for s hits and giggles.. let’s have guess at current ( realistic) values of some of squad now they a proving they are Premier League ready..
Be interesting who everyone thinks which player had seen his value rise the most
For me I’d say either Roefs or Nordi Mukiele.. both now worth over 25 mil comfortably

Id say Ballards values raised the most. He's been an absolute machine both ends of the pitch so far this season on top of an excellent finish in the Championship last season

Tend to agree about Ballard since the start of this season but Hume must be the biggest % rise (for those we paid a fee for) - didn’t we get him for a bag of wine gums and a pack of polos?

Around 750k i think we paid for Hume, including add ons. Ballard was only 2m aswell if memory serves me correctly.

Our transfer buisness over the past 5 years has been exceptional, apart from a few exceptions like Poveda, Hemir, Dack etc but we're allowed to make a few mistakes along the way.

I’d want al least £40million for Ballard. I’d say right now most valuable player.

30 each for Nordi and Omar
20 for Trai, ballpark.
Sadiki 30 and rising fast
Roefs 25 and rising.
Big riser would be Wilson. 20 be reasonable for a striker proven in championship. He’s now scoring in PL and absolutely levelled up in his all round game.

£35-40million if he bags another 2-3 pre January.

Atill chicken feed compared to top clubs but these prices are only going up and this is 3 seasons after League One.

Transfermarktt have the squad value now at £360million. Staggering. That’s got Ballard at £10million. Real value is closer than to £400million. It’s insanity given where we were. Insanity.

I would agree on the Ballard thing but I think Sadiki will be worth the most come next summer. Lets hope we do well and dont want to sell and they dont want to go.

100% mate. I’ve said a few times he’s a £60-70 million sale.

Diarra as well we can’t gauge but I’ve little doubt he be similar.

I can't think of one player whose value has decreased. One good season in the prem, which they are having, can invite some daft bids.

All amazing, even more so, considering our recruitment head has left us.I haven’t seen why or any news of his replacement…. always possible I’ve missed it of course.

Even the exceptions aren't really that bad, mostly gambles on younger players that didn't pay off, but in the scheme of things didn't cost a huge amount of money.

Poveda is a decent championship level player at least, when fit. But he was never fit for us. If the stories are true he was only on a low basic wage with the rest made up on appearance money and bonuses. So he was worth a gamble on even though it didn't work.

Hemir had all the attributes to be a good centre forward but seems to lack the mental side to be one. £900k wasn't all that much when you look at it, only slightly more than Mayenda. When you see how Mayenda has developed if Hemir had come along half as well we'd have been laughing.

For me the only really disappointing ones were Dack (a supposed top level, established Championship level player) and Rusyn who looks like he couldn't adapt to being here instead of Ukraine. Those are the only two you can really call flops because of what they cost in fees and wages, the rest were gambles on younger players that didn't work out for whatever reason but didn't really cost us much. And when you consider what was going on behind the scenes to rebuild the club from the previous mess, the success rate we've had is really exceptional.

If we feel confident we can find players in the £20m-£30m range to do a job in the Premiership, most of the players we brought in are probably worth £40m-£50m, so that we can profit and mitigate risk.

Dack had to be a Mowbray buy, rather than a data driven bit of transfer business.
Perhaps one of the few occasions the ownership pandered to a manager
I dont expect that situation to arise very often in future

Who do we think is our most valuable player now... I would have said Xhaka had it not been for his age..but otherwise i'm scratching my head
