Due to the hysteria at the Crystal Rooms London, off Wembley way on semi final day and the performance from Ed Faulkner on stage to 1500 tigers fans, he has decided to dust off his microphone and record a Hull City Wembley song. The song is called the Wembleyphant and is to the tune of the Toy Doy’s version of Nellie The Elephant! There’ll be special appearances on the track from City players, local celebrities and fans. It’s a fun song that all the fans, young and old, can sing along to and will be being recorded on Tuesday 29th April 2014 from 1pm at Fruit Trade Music, Humber Street, Hull. Ed is no stranger to cheesy football songs, in the 1996/97 season, he recorded a song for North Ferriby United’s trip to Wembley in the FA Vase Final. In 2000, the famous Warren Joyce era for Hull City, he recorded ‘Our Song’. So the time seems right for him to record his third football song. Ed said “It’s great to do another fun football anthem. I think it took me no more than 15mins to write, that’s how difficult it is” he said with a laugh “
It looks like we’ll be taking over the Crystal Rooms at Wembley once again and performing the song there” The song will be recorded by local band COAVES who’ll be appearing as Club Amber. Jon Calvert from COAVES said “It’s great to get onboard with ‘Wembleyphant’ and hopefully we can get the crowd singing the song when City are lifting the FA Cup!” Mikey Scott of Fruit Trade Music said “It’s a great idea and brilliant for the studio to get involved with for what will be another great day for the city” The song will be released on 1st May and will be available to download for just £1 on
www.hullcity.bandcamp.com/track/wembleyphant. All money will be donated to a local charity.
