Can’t help but feel bad for Critchley.
But he just wasn’t working out and it was the obvious thing to make the change. Bit bizarre waiting post the ‘boro game as he was pretty much nailed in to lose that.
Unfortunately he didn’t come across well at all. After ‘the snake’ he would have seemed boring to the players too. I also wasn’t impressed by the staff he brought in with him either … nothing really tore up any trees did it.
Good luck in the game NC. Wrong job for you unfortunately.

Now who next? It’s not an inspiring list, but as Bob points out, who’s lining up for this one? Not many if they’ve watched us.
I can’t see Gareth being the one - this really isn’t the job to walk into. Wilder? Is he too expensive? Are we too much of a basket case for him? Jones - I just don’t like the bloke - shouldn’t come into it but it does.
We need someone with some gravitas, take no sh1t and get down to some real business with this squad. They need leadership.

Good post. Ages ago I called Jones a mini Warnock to my lad. Never liked him parading up and down the touchline screaming and shouting this and that but I also hated playing Luton as he had them well drilled. I actually think after having such a wet lettuce of a gaffer then we need someone who demands everything from his players. Wilder, I reckon would want assurances that we just aren't capable of offering.

If I’m right, last time this happened the club said they always had a back-up plan and a list.
So shouldn’t be long before we hear of a new appointment.

I'd say we need a c*nt of a manager to shake our lot up. Jones probably fits that bill but he's failed twice away from Luton.

Wilder has a high success rate but could be out of our price range. Both these have managed in the Premier League so that ups the wage demands and without a pot to piss in we're not an attractive option...

Jones is a total basket case.....
But he did brilliantly at Luton, a club with a smaller player budget than us, yet managed to pick up gems from lower leagues and played us off the park twice this season, even after he walked out on them to go to saints...
Might not be a popular choice but may be just the sort of no nonsense manager we need....

Hope they get next manager from europe ( germany, france , spain or italy. Better ones comes from there and they are eager to come england. They are maybe bit cheaper too???

If I took over, I'd tell all the loan players that they don't deserve to be here and that they all start on the bench.

I'd shout, obviously.

Why are you being so childish about it?
Do you think he should of stayed?
How much longer would you have given him?

Much of the criticism of Critchley has been about the way he speaks, which I find somewhat pathetic - childish, you might say.

He's plainly failed and it's probably right that he goes now, but the blame lies with Beale and the players he brought in who don't want to play for anyone else.

What a ****ing mess. As bad as things were, I'm not really sure we've got this right.

Maybe we shouldn't have hired him in the first place. That would be the fault of the club senior figures.

But we've just hired a manager and sacked him within 3 ****ing months.

I question whether it's the right decision because I think the main reason for these results is a bad combination of players who care but have rock bottom confidence along with players who don't care enough. Pep Guardiola could take over and still wouldn't be able to get a response out of this lot.

If Critchley had taken over from the start of pre-season instead of Beale, I'm sure he would have had more success than he has. But he didn't come into a very good situation to start with.

The senior figures at the club must have a replacement they believe in already agreed. But the senior figures haven't exactly chosen well so far!

I sadly can only imagine us continuing to dish out awful performances, regardless of who comes in now. A relegation battle is still on the cards no matter what, imo.

I actually think we probably have less chance of staying up after sacking him. Probably would have been better to scrape through with Critchley and then change at end of season. Changing now is asking for trouble and I think this may come back to bite us.
