Just watched the 2nd days highlights, what wonderful innings by Crawley and Buttler. The first 2 days England have hardly put a foot wrong, and with Jimmy getting 3 wickets really put the cherry on top of the cake.

JA's taken his 599'th wicket but the light's fading, spinners are on and forecast for tomorrow is dreadful. He'll have a sleepless night tonight. :emoticon-0100-smile

It's been a grind today with few highlights apart from Jimmy getting a bit closer to 600 wickets. Hope he gets the chance tomorrow if the weather behaves, but still think this will peter out into a draw.

It's not looking very promising for today, it looks as if he will have a long wait for his 600th. I bet he is giving some stick to those that drop the catches that would have taken him over the line already,

A fantastic achievement by Jimmy Anderson, to be the top test pace bowler of all time really is outstanding. Let's hope he continues for a good while yet.

Listening to yesterdays TMS podcast, Aggers was talking to Jack Leach about his heroics with Stokes against the Aussies, which was a year ago to the day.
Listening back to the commentary brought back amazing memories of what unfolded that day, with him staying with Stokes for only 1 run, should have been run out but Lyon's dropped the ball, then an IBW shout, which the umpire gave not out, and the Aussies had no reviews left. It all was happening!.

Really interesting listening to Jack Leach's recollections of the day, well worth a listen if you haven't heard it.

Well done Jimmy. A fantastic achievement. Wonder how many more he will get before he retires.
Incredible accolade from Glenn McGrath (second best pace bowler of all time). 'Anderson has set the bar for pace bowlers as Tendukar did for batsmen'.
From a normally ungenerous ex opponent, it puts into context Anderson's achievement.

Test format is great, as long as we have reasonably responsive wickets and two fairly well matched teams both going for the jugular. A well matched series is sport at it's best.

Otherwise ( as one of it's greatest fans), it can be horrendously dull.

Yes, but either way it takes a long time, so as an excuse to travel, drink and watch sport it’s a great one (as long as you at least get back on the day you’d told your wives you’d get back...:bandit:)
