They didn't prepare that pitch mind. I think I might take a wicket on that.

Lord's has a big problem with the pitch. They have waffled on about it for years, but this might make them get on to sorting it.

If it was a County ground they could expect a points deduction. 33 wickets in two days is ridiculous.
Yes,I agree,I was perhaps being a bit harsh. I wonder if it'll mean that,if they can't sort the pitch,the ECB will be under pressure to ditch Lords?

It should do!

All about money. London has 30m people within easy range. All the games sell out. So they will keep plodding along.

What they should do is put an extra test on at the Oval, so two London tests, and share that cash from the second test out between the counties. That leaves another test for the other grounds.

But it might take two whole seasons to do it really well. So they won't do it.

My guess is they'll eventually go for drop in pitches, as they do in Australia, though I don't know if we have the wherewithal for that here as it's never been needed .
