Stokes fitness has been fine all of the tour. But I think he should concentrate on batting instead of bowling. Sadly we have nobody to take on the all rounder mantle.

He’s the most successful England captain in Australia since 2010/11 ashes!! Which is terrifying in itself. But he’ll still probably be sacked for this when he doesn’t deserve to be imo
I beg to differ mate. Stokes fitness has been anything but fine for the last few years. And,we've won one match....ffs....he doesn't have to do much to be more successful than anyone else in the last 15 years. I'm not saying he should be sacked......what I am saying is that a 5 day red ball squad needs to be better assembled for a Test match series to Australia. Players need to be fit, and, just as importantly, match fit, both physically and mentally. I don't care how talented he is,but if you're Harry Brook and you're charging down the pitch to full pitch bowling or trying to play a reverse sweep every time you get a slower ball, you're not good enough for Test match cricket. Time for the England team management to wake up.

Wood,Archer,Atkinson and now Stokes, whose fitness was always dodgy anyway. It'll dawn on the management of this beleagured outfit at some point that something isn't quite right!

I agree the “last few years” (made of glass comes to kind) but he looked like he’d got sorted before this tour. Until yesterday he looked fine. 5th test 3rd day!

Agree with all you’ve said mind. But I think stokes is the best option we have for captain personally

As I think I've said elsewhere.......it's a very low bar!

Personally I thought the preparation was too light. One day matches in New Zealand but no matches against state sides or select sides aren't aren't enough. The team looked under cooked and scattergun in tactics.

Just watching the big bash in Australia and I noticed they use ultraedge not sniko which they use in the test matches. There has been a lot of controversy during the recent test series so I had a look on the net to see why they use the less accurate system. It turns out that the host broadcaster decide which technology to use in this case fox sports and sniko is cheaper than the more advanced ultraedge. <doh>

Just said exactly the same to the bairn earlier on. It's raining sixes in this match!

Wouldn't you think the ICC would step in and say ultraedge is the standard for international cricket. New Zealand and Australian broadcasters tend to use sniko the tight buggers <laugh>

If any of you are watching the BBL final on Sunday between Perth Scorchers and some other team I’ll be doing us proud wearing the blue away top. HTL and HTS.

We've just got back into our hotel room and realised that there's a BBL game at the SCG - loads of empty seats as well so we could've got in. Disappointed isn't the word!
