Had to read the scorecard a couple of times to believe what I was seeing.

Really disappointed we did not put in a better performance with the bat.

Bethell is not a test number 3 at the moment. They are determined to get him in to the team and he might well be the future but the standard route for pretty much every top class number three is to get themselves in to the team at 5 or 6, score runs and then work there way up the order. Given how frequently our openers are failing at the moment the lad is on a hiding to nothing.

Just woke up and checked the score. Crikey, 20 wickets in a day and Harry Brook charging Starc first ball. Looks like we have learned a lot from the first 3 matches. <doh>

So are they. And listening to players it seems like a pitch prepared solely for the bowlers. Nipping both ways. Unreadable. When Smith and Root can’t play the game there’s something wrong. Australia turning into India in preparation of pitches solely for their strength. But this match could be over before we wake tomorrow morning!

Yes we should’ve batted better, but so should they. Imagine travelling and getting tickets for the big days of a test (3/4 normally) and the groundsman preparing this pitch?

Well.... what a shambles, to thinking nearly got up to watch it, middle of the night... pleased I fell asleep...

26 wickets before .lunch on day 2! Pretty sure the ECB would be investigating the pitch if that happen a county game!

Edit. 1 and a half days, I to the 4th innings of the match! Awful for test cricket. Hope the England batsmen can actually remember how to bat now!!

Aussies 132 all out. England need 21 more runs to win with 6 wickets left. Remarkable.

Well played by Carse, Stokes, Crawley and Bethell.
