Feel for Pope. Seems to really struggle scoring as captain. Not watching but the scorecard suggests there are runs to be had on this pitch.
He's not a captain. I don't really understand the decision to hand it to him (or the vice captaincy). I'd argue his place in the side isn't even secure given his erratic form.
Problem is, the side is so young that there aren't many candidates other than Root and possibly Crawley
Enjoying Root freed up from it to much to imagine anything going back to him. Trouble is with Stokes' injury record you really need a very good vice ready to step in.

If we can bat another 2 sessions at 5 an over then we could be 220 ahead by tea tomorrow. That might put a bit of pressure on Pakistan, particularly with their poor recent form. In all likelihood it will be a bore draw
Agree. It will require a capitulation from Pakistan batting.....it's always possible,but highly unlikely on this pitch.
