Need to finish some sanding/varnishing some decking before I can settle down and watch it... I have the radio on
I’m working from home. Got my laptop screen, a large external monitor which are both full of spreadsheets. The have my iPad on the desk so I can watch it!! Arranged my 2 meetings according to Lunch and tea!!!

Mitchell looking for a draw?

I think we lost three overs by not having Anderson and the new ball asp . and the extra pressure gives us a mountain to climb.
Was it Richie Benaud who always said - start the session with your best bowlers. England started with Leach & Stokes, then Broad & Anderson took the wickets.

Going to be an interesting afternoon, but England made it harder for themselves

If that was Anderson to Latham you say well done. It was very good bowling much like his first innings. We are classic as fans at ignoring how good a bowler the opposition are. Boult is superb
Ok, fair point but it's almost every innings with Crawley. Take away his 2 hundreds and he's averaging 18.88
I know averages don't work like that and every opener can nick off to a good ball but he could and should have left that ball. His shot selection leaves a lot to be desired - it's no coincidence that he has had 22 innings of 10 or less in his 42 completed attempts

31 of his 42 innings are below his current test average of 27.21

Agreed Boult is good notwithstanding that if Crawley is going to be an England opening bat he has to learn (quickly) to cope with a fast lefthanded bowler firing a ball across him. Ie move his feet in line and tuck his bat in.

Possibly. But the angle of the ball from Boult puts a little doubt in a batsman’s mind.
