I was just thinking the same.... the cricket authorities are money daft...all the players should be home now for a couple of weeks
at least.
Apparently we "owed" CA after they played a covid series over here a couple of years ago. Seems as though the ECB didn't fancy asking the players to do another long haul trip to Oz, so shoe-horned this series in at the end of the T20 WC

Still ****e like

Our young batsman smashing the Pakistani bowlers around the ground.
Biggest one day score apparently.

Its a seriously flat wicket. Hoping our bowlers can do better than the Pakistanis bowlers are on it
Scoreboard pressure is often a factor, but I hate it when they produce flat pitches. The game is always better when the ball has the edge over the bat (IMHO). Watching Eng rack up 600, then Pakistan ambling to 500 all out then the inevitable draw is what makes people switch Test Match Cricket off

I totally agree with you, you need some kind of balance in the pitch that give the bowlers at least a chance of a wicket in every over. I'm still a big fan of test cricket but producing a wicket where its basically batting practice is not going to entice new supporters to the game

These ****ing adverts that the commentators have to read out. Minging

Very generous declaration indeed. I make Pakistan firm favourites here mind. Wickets have been extremely hard to get on this wicket, and runs the opposite.

With the sick bay full of bowlers, I thought they might have batted a bit longer, maybe another thirty or so runs.I don't think Pakistan will need to take any risks to get these runs, but fair play to Stokes, he's only interested in trying to win.
