Brilliant last 3 games from England. Stokes really is the man for the big stage, but absolutely delighted for wee Sam Curran

Congratulations to both sides who gave us a good game to watch. Not my game, a bit too show biz but I can see the attraction.

Agreed, Test match cricket will always be the pinnacle but white ball cricket has it's place - there are a surprising amount of tactics in T20 cricket - I assumed it was all just "smash it anywhere" but the fielding sides can influence that a lot more than I ever thought

For generating interest and getting kids into Cricket, the white ball game is fantastic. The bairn got into watching it a few years ago and then wanted to go and watch Durham play in the Vitality Blast which we did. He signed for a local club last year and loves it. And the club then nominated him to attend extra training sessions as part of the Durham pathway over the winter. :emoticon-0137-clapp

Seeing the batsmen smash it and seeing Stokes taking unbelievable catches on the boundary are fabulous.

Test matches are class as well though, especially things like the Ashes are exciting in a different way.

I got that from watching to-day, my previous opinion was it was Rounders with a cricket bat, but I now know better, and as OA has said above its a also a perfect format for busy families and younger children.

Yeah. My son watched every ball of the England innings. That is 10 times as much cricket as he's ever watched. Might drag him along to Durham next season

The bairn plays footy and now cricket at U11 level. He's played footy since U7s and we have season tickets for safc but I've asked him a few times recently, if there was a conflict between his footy team and cricket team KO for a match then what would he want to play and he's always gone for the cricket. He loves it.

Good choice I would say. :emoticon-0148-yes:
Just to let you know, I tried to reply to you earlier with a couple of pics of two of my 9 year old grandsons enjoying cricket and football today , both enjoy organised sport, one is cricket mad and made himself comfortable to watch the cricket this morning, while another played football in a tournament cup game this evening under lights and scored in a winning penalty shoot, sadly the pics have vanished into the ether between a mobile and a laptop , this technology is beyond me at times . <laugh>

Tremendous stuff mate. Glad they are enjoined it. Keep them involved as long as they want to be involved in it and are enjoying it. So many teams these days, it's hard to keep up. The bairns footy team on a Saturday have joined a Futsal league on a Tuesday <laugh>, bang goes another evening <laugh><laugh>

England reserves losing to Australia's first team I see. Total nonsense of a series - you wonder why so many cricketers are retiring from certain versions of the game
